This is a list of some of the amazing lady hoopers in Lincoln. These are players that all collegiate coaches, and hoops fans need to make a priority to check out next season. I would also highly recommend their Hudl highlights. These young ladies have talents that will stretch far beyond the Nebraska borders but will be a treat to watch this next season.
[player_tooltip player_id="94394" first="Alexis" last="Markowski"] 6’3- Lincoln Pius Markowski will go down as one of the toughest matchups of any position in Nebraska girls basketball history. Most teams have an idea of what Markowski is trying to do but have no way of stopping her.
[player_tooltip player_id="94395" first="Kaysia" last="Woods"]- Lincoln High Woods is a sniper from 3 point range. With her size and ability to shoot the ball she is an absolute matchup nightmare. She is on the radar of many division 1 scouts.
[player_tooltip player_id="94405" first="Jillian" last="Aschoff"] 5’6- Lincoln Pius One of the best passing point guards in the state. Aschoff would make any team in the state of Nebraska better, just by her competitive spirit and her ability to read defenses. It would be tough to rank any point guard in the state over Aschoff.
Kate Dilsaver 5’10- Lincoln Southwest A joy to watch. She is a 3D player. She can guard anyone. If you leave her open Dilsaver is going to bury the 3. If you close out too fast she is going to drive and get to the basket. If you over help she will find her open teammates. Dilsaver is a game-changer.
Abby Krieser 5’8 Lincoln North Star- Krieser is an unreal athlete. She has just recently begun to focus on basketball so Krieser may be one of the biggest breakout stars for next season. Her ability to get by defenders coupled with her ability to lock down players on the defensive end make her a nightmare to deal with.
Olivia Kugler 5’7- Lincoln East Kugler is a 5”7 guard who can flat out play. Kugler had 6 games in double digits this year for the Spartans on a team loaded with seniors. She will shine next season.
Haley Peterson 5’5- Lincoln East This D1 Soccer recruit also gets it done on the hardwood. Peterson is an all-out hustler and a bit of glue player that keeps the Spartans clicking on all cylinders. If the basketball is on the floor Peterson will be the first one diving for it.
Skylar Pieper 5’7- Lincoln Southwest Pieper is lethal on the offensive end. She has an ability to sell a backdoor cut unlike anyone in Lincoln. Defenders have to stay tight because of her ability to hit 3’s and when defenders are too tight she will make a smooth cut to the basket for an easy finish.
Mackylee Ailes 5’8 Lincoln Christian- Ailes is another deadly shooter. You cannot give this kid any room. A 3 pointer for Ailes is simply like a layup to most other humans.
Katie Carpenter 5’8- Lincoln Southwest A nightmare on the defensive end who is always going to be near the top in the steals category. She is also pretty efficient from downtown knocking down plenty of 3’s.
Briley Hill 5’10- Lincoln East Another Spartan who is a D1 recruit in soccer. Hill is another one of my most likely to break out in the 2020/2021 season. With her length and speed she can easily defend multiple positions.
A’lyana Jones - Lincoln Northeast A lightning-quick guard who will become the focal point of the Rockets offense next season.
Kylie Shottenkirk 5’8 Lincoln North Star- Nicknamed Shotty appropriately. It would be hard to imagine Shottenkirk losing a game of horse to many people. She is a lights out shooter who is looking to break all the shooting records at North Star.
