Top 6 Juniors: Madison Area Below is a list of players in the Junior class that play in the surounding Madison area. Each of these players have had much success in their high school careers and have even higher ceilings going into summer and senior year action. Maty Wilke | 5’10 CG | Beaver Dam Wilke is the number one player in her class ranked by Prep Girls Hoops. She is a standout player who performs at such a high level. Her feel for the game goes unmatched and her ability to score in a variety of ways is incredible. She will knock down from beyond the arc or hit a smooth floater in lane. Wilke is a tall guard who uses her combination of length and skill to impact games. She has a scorers mentality and nose for finding her way to the rim. With over 20 major Division 1 offers, Wilke has scored over 1,000 points in her varsity career. The junior averaged 16.7 points per game this season. Claudia Fieiras | 5’9 F | Janesville Craig The strong forward led her team in scoring this season. She’s an athletic forward who runs the floor well and is quick in the paint. Fieiras could certainly impact the game at any position offensively as she moves well without the ball and creates a game for herself. She’s a great overall player for Janesville Craig. She scores from everywhere on the floor and is super effective off the pass. The standout averaged 18.2 points per game during her junior season. With multiple huge games, Fieiras proved how effective she is offensively. In a win over Madison East, Fieiras scored a season-high 34 points. She scored over 1,000 points so far in her varsity career. She’s confident beyond the arc and made 31 perimeter shots this season. A great defender as well, she uses her athleticism and footwork to hold back bigger forwards on the box out. She finished the season averaging 6.1 rebounds per game with 147 total on the season. Jazzanay Seymore | 6’0 F | Sun Prairie | Flight Elite Seymore led her team in both scoring and rebounding this season. A strong post player with ability to impact the game with her size and footwork, Seymore really stepped up for Sun Prairie this season. While being a forward, Seymore still seems to set the tempo for her team. She’s a leader on the floor and does a great job making her teammates better. She moves without the ball and creates a spot for herself to get open. She has a solid size and uses it to her advantage in the post. Seymore uses a nice sit and spin on offense and does an impressive job sealing her defender. Although if left open on the perimeter, Seymore may knock it down. She made 12 three point baskets this season. She led her team in scoring with 14.5 points per game and 7.5 rebounds. [player_tooltip player_id="132356" first="Natalie" last="Jens"] | 5’7 CG | Beaver Dam Jens developed from a role player to a key asset to her team this season. She’s a focused player who plays with a lot of dicisipe on the floor. She doesn’t force anything for herself or her teammates. A workhouse for sure, Jens plays up-tempo and gets everybody involved. She’s a passing specialist. Jens averaged 2.3 assists per game and does a great job finding her teammates like Maty Wilke open going towards the basket. She has a sick no look pass that has helped her multiple times this season. A consistent scorer for her team as well, Jens averaged 13.8 points per game. She holds an offer from Michigan Tech. Teya Maas | 6’1 F | Watertown Maas had a breakout season during her junior campaign developing her into one of the top prospects in the state. She finished second in the Badger- South conference in both scoring and rebounding. A unanimous first team all conference selection, Maas proved she can impact the game on multiple levels. She led her team in scoring this season with 15.7 points per game. A strong post player with multiple moves on the paint, Maas can score the basketball. She uses her athleticism to be bouncing on her shot- helping her to score over top of defenders. She has a high release as well that she uses to her advantage. In a game against Milwaukee Marshall, Maas scored a season-high 26 points. A fierce rebounder as well, Maas added 9.6 rebounds per game for Watertown. In a game against Fort Atkinson, Maas grabbed a season-high 15 boards. [player_tooltip player_id="132346" first="Anna" last="Lutz"] | 6’1 PF | Marshall The strong post player led her team to an undefeated conference record this season. Lutz averaged 23 points per game for her team this season and impacted every game with her ability to score on the block. She put up huge numbers every game and did a great job fighting off double teams and scoring with high pressure defense. In a game against New Glarus, Lutz scored a season-high 34 points. A primarily inside shooting threat, Lutz improved her perimeter shot as well. The junior made 22 three point baskets this season. Lutz changes the game with her ability to defend. She is a rebounding and shot blocking machine. She knows how to use her size and footwork to alter shots and make defenders force a perimeter shot. This season she averaged 3.2 blocks and 9.4 rebounds per game. Lutz is committed to UW Milwaukee.
