Shooters are depended upon by their teams in order to hit shots down the stretch to ignite the game in a truly big fashion. Sometimes such a big shot can change the turn of the game in a rippling manner. These shooters also had the ability to get their shot off from a combination of ways, including off the dribble and off the catch. La Salle’s [player_tooltip player_id="158474" first="Addison" last="Wedin"] brings a standard for shooters as she can catch it off the bounce or create her own shot herself. [player_tooltip player_id="158480" first="Hilary" last="James"] of South Salem, likes to use her dribbling diplomacy to get off masterful shots in a moment’s notice. There are also hidden gems like [player_tooltip player_id="158495" first="Tiara" last="Bolden"], who is an incredibly efficient shooter that gets off her shot in a minimizing manner. Here are some of the top shooters of the class of 2021. [player_tooltip player_id="158474" first="Addison" last="Wedin"] 2021 5’10" PG La Salle HS - Wedin plays in a system articulated for her offensive game, described in one word - versatile. The Falcons like to spread the floor in a way where they have shooters at all angles, Addison being one of them. She hits the corner three-ball with outstanding consistency as her overall season of 39% was a great indication of that. She can score at all three-levels and make it look easy, as shown through her career high 39 point performance versus Ashland in the opening round of the 5A playoffs, as she shot 9-10 from three. [player_tooltip player_id="158481" first="Taylin" last="Smith"] 2021 5’5" PG Liberty HS - Dynamic athlete for Liberty who can obviously dribble, but is so difficult to guard on the run, due to her ability to pull up anywhere on the court. When she gets to her spot of choosing, she makes her mark, and pulls up and extends and makes it look so easy. Because she is such a fluid and aware passer, this opens up her three-point ball as well. She will come off a screen nonchalantly and pedestrian like and drain it in pace. [player_tooltip player_id="158480" first="Hilary" last="James"] 2021 5’6" PG South Salem HS - Hilary gets off a lot of her shots thanks to her dribble combination moves, which can put anyone in the blender. Once she creates space for her shot, she will let it go in a jiffy and with astonishing results. This was especially displayed in her Chiles Center performance versus Sheldon, where she connected on 6-7 three-pointers en route a 35 point performance. Her quick release is aided by her slick handle, which go hand-in-hand and make her one of the deadliest shoots in the State. [player_tooltip player_id="158482" first="Kylee" last="Arzner"] 2021 5’10" SF McMinnville HS - Kylee is a deceptional athlete, as she is built like a forward but very much so has the guard skills in her repertoire. The 5’10” multilayered athlete keeps very low on her dribble, and makes some exceptional moves that razzle and dazzle her defenders. She has a throwback mid-range game that is polished and removed from today’s present game. Arzner, however, can keep up with today’s game as she is also lights out from three-point land. [player_tooltip player_id="158475" first="Audrey" last="Roden"] 2021 5’9" SG West Linn HS - One of the State’s most complete offensive players is also a prolific shooter, as she shot 35% from three-point land last season. What is especially dangerous about Roden is that she can shoot from the catch or create her own shot off the dribble. She can truly score from all three levels, which is augmented by her slick handle that she has on the ball. Shows a good mid-range game in her arsenal as well. [player_tooltip player_id="158502" first="Audrey" last="Miller"] 2021 6’0" SG Santiam Christian HS - Audrey is tall for a guard, but nimble and quick which all aide her in her shooting efforts. She towers over her defenders and she has a nice, repetitive, clean shooting stroke that results in making three-pointers for her. Every game, she is good for two or three from deep per game, as her favorite is to let it go at a moment’s notice when the defender is least expecting it. She also has a nice touch around the rim when trying to get a shot off amongst several defenders. [player_tooltip player_id="158491" first="Skye" last="Miller"] 2021 5’8" SG McKay HS - The do-it all, versatile guard from McKay is also a prolific shooter. Her favorite shot is the three-pointer from deep at the top of the key, as she will let it go a foot behind the line. Once she decides to shoot it and lines it up, she is especially effective. She utilizes a lot of bounce from her legs and translates it into a fluid, nice looking shot. She also has a nice strong handle which he uses to get good looks at the basket. [player_tooltip player_id="158495" first="Tiara" last="Bolden"] 2021 5’9" SG Churchill HS - Very confident scorer that can truly get it done in a lot of ways. Tight dribbles, use dynamic moves and doesn’t waste a dribble as she tries to score in three dribbles or less. Fluid off the catch, can pull up, and the shot release is clean and doesn’t waste a movement. Her athletic ability is depicted through her shot, as she displays a bouncy but constructed, textbook jump shot. Is one of the State's most efficient and creative shot makers.
