I always offer full disclaimers on what I say or write is based on what I see because over the years, almost 20, I’ve seen stories or evaluations that left me speechless at times and it really irritates me someone tells me someone else’s opinion because I don’t care and all of this is just based on personal opinions however mine come with no agenda whatsoever so with the exception of [player_tooltip player_id="135367" first="Bailey" last="Maupin"], who I caught on video, I have seen each of these players multiple times show me what they can do so here are my ten from Region 1 2021 [player_tooltip player_id="67956" first="Jordyn" last="Newsome"] (Irving Macarthur) Newsome creates her shot very well under pressure, she can catch and shoot and she shoots the mid to long-range exceptionally well but after her performance at Pass Tha Ball I-45 Shootout, she simply showed me even more including nailing clutch shots down as well as the long ball after contact [player_tooltip player_id="97637" first="Kendall" last="McGruder"] (South Grand Prairie) McGruder showed up and out at the Spring Creek Mansfield Rotary Invitational because the games that I saw her play for her high school squad, she showed she could take over and change the momentum of a game while shooting the ball consistently and accurately plus her shot selection is solid [player_tooltip player_id="136315" first="Isabella" last="Earle"] (Denton Guyer) Earle left me speechless at the PBR Super 64 last season and to show me that I wasn’t seeing a mirage, she also went odd at the Texas A&M Team Camp so watching her create her shot in tight situations, the form, the release at the right time and of course, the accuracy from mid to long sold me [player_tooltip player_id="136322" first="Mariah" last="Roberts"] (Arlington Martin) Roberts was another shooting exhibition standout at the Spring Creek Mansfield Rotary Invitational and taking defenders off the dribble was key to her setting them up for the stop and pop or step back for the long ball but she mixes it up nicely and understands how to get to her spot 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="96915" first="Jamia" last="Harris"] (Desoto) Harris is solid under pressure, she brings intensity on the offensive end and put on shows both during the club season as well as at the Sandra Meadows Classic. Her ball-handling and creativity enables her to maneuver around the defenders and keep them off balance and the jumper is sold [player_tooltip player_id="135367" first="Bailey" last="Maupin"] (Gruver) Maupin is a prime example of "college coaches love big guards that can shoot" because she can definitely do that, her body is college-ready now and so is her shooting because she can go completely off or shoot it consistently in the flow and with numerous D1 offers on the table... [player_tooltip player_id="135368" first="Desiree" last="Wooten"] (Mansfield Timberview) Wooten was unconscious at the Summer Elite Championship last season, her energy and intensity on both ends made we wonder how she was still able to shoot the long ball with accuracy late in the games, I saw her go off in back to back games and was scoring from everywhere [player_tooltip player_id="135382" first="Hallie" last="Rhodes"] (LD Bell) Rhodes was a big surprise for me at the Summer Elite Championship as she combines size, athleticism, and endurance to just elevate over defenders constantly for the jumper and on top of that, she has the mindset of wanting the ball down the stretch and she delivers 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="96130" first="Zeryhia" last="Lee-Aokuso"] (Amarillo) Lee-Aokuso was called a #D1Lock by me prior to high school when I caught her at Prime Time Nationals, it doesn’t take me long to know what I’m looking at and when you score double digits in 90 seconds against a solid team, well it’s easy as she mixes the long ball with the mid and is a pressure player [player_tooltip player_id="134062" first="Payton" last="Hull"] (Peaster) Hull caught my eye at the Super 64 last season, well both eyes because I had seen her the previous year as well and was impressed but she creates and can shoot it from anywhere on the court while being defended but her scorers’ mentality is something you can’t teach
