Battle at the Falls: Top 5 2022 Performances

Day two of Battle at the Falls in Cedar Falls started with the only two 2022 squads, Lady Martin Brothers and Dubuque Elite, facing off. The 2022 Lady Martin Brothers gave a dominant performance, showing great tempo and ball movement. Many players stood out to me during the course of the game, but five showed a versatile skill set and played well for one of the first showings of the summer. [player_tooltip player_id="128999" first="Allie" last="Meadows"] — 2022 — Central DeWitt High School — Lady Martin Brothers 2022 Meadows showed one of the most versatile games at guard for the 2022’s today. At the start of the game, she showed a quick burst driving left with nice finishing ability. She has good court vision and pushed tempo, and later in the game, proved she can also hit the three.   <img class=" wp-image-183118 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/06/IMG_7748.jpg" alt="" width="210" height="158" /> [player_tooltip player_id="129005" first="Delaynie" last="Luneckas"] — 2022 — West Branch High School — Lady Martin Brothers 2022 At 6’2”, Luneckas is mobile on the perimeter while demonstrating good moves in the post. She finished with several chop moves throughout the game. Luneckas also uses her length and crashes the boards hard.   Josie Potts — 2023 — Dubuque Senior High School — Dubuque Elite 2022 Although technically a 2023, Potts makes the list as the most dominant, controlled member of the 2022 Dubuque Elite team. She has great confidence from three, whether she’s spotting up on the wing or catching the ball in transition. Her teammates made sure to find her, and she was comfortable handling the ball against the Lady Martin Brothers press. <img class=" wp-image-183117 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/06/IMG_0083-scaled-e1593360291238-300x216.jpg" alt="" width="224" height="161" />   Kaia Holtkamp — 2022 — Solon High School — Lady Martin Brothers 2022 I haven’t seen Holtkamp before, but she played a great game at guard. She ran the floor well in transition and had three great finishes in a row off the pass and dribble. She will be one to watch in the next two years with this program.   [player_tooltip player_id="129002" first="Aree" last="Beckmann"] — 2022 — Cedar Rapids Xavier — Lady Martin Brothers 2022 Beckmann has a great all-around game and is very comfortable handling the ball. She moved the ball and finished when she went inside. She also showed mid-range game today, which is something that not many players have at any level.
