[player_tooltip player_id="158529" first="McKenzie" last="Hirsch"] for Crater finds ways to contribute to her team, especially on the defensive end of the court. Philomath’s [player_tooltip player_id="158525" first="Sage" last="Kramer"] showed that 4A level basketball can be exciting and dynamic, as she led the Warriors through statistics and skills. Here is the Do-It All Players of 2022, Part 2.
[player_tooltip player_id="158523" first="Gretta" last="Baker"] 2022 5’10" SF Cleveland HS - Gretta has so many ways to score on offense, as she is incredibly fluid and dynamic with the ball. She is capable of hitting multiple three-pointers per game, can get to her sports and has a great mid-range game as well. Displays enough wiggle to get past defenders and finishes at the rim. Defensively she makes a point of making it her job to come up with the ball, as she is a pestering defender that has great hands for coming up with the ball. Through three games at the Portland Holiday Classic, she averaged 16.0 points, 5.33 rebounds, 1 block per game while hitting 2.33 three-pointers every contest.
[player_tooltip player_id="158518" first="Julia" last="Calvin"] 2022 5’7" PG Lincoln HS - Julia is a dynamic leader for her team that only knows how to play one way: with a sheer confidence and high motor. She is excellent at setting and playing at a high pace, but pausing enough to make the right play, whether that is a hesitation dribble or a glance to make a pass to an open teammate. Julia is incredibly shifty off the dribble that can throw a change-up in your direction with variation in pace and dribble that catches her opposition off guard. Calvin has a myriad of ways to score off the dribble and is incredibly balanced and finishes with fluidity within the paint and shoots it from deep at a high rate. She fights for rebounds over taller opponents through her active hands and physicality. A leader that does anything and everything for her team.
[player_tooltip player_id="158529" first="McKenzie" last="Hirsch"] 2022 5’10" SF Crater HS - McKenzie is a team-oriented player whose primary focus is to help in whatever way possible to the larger cause at hand. Her season averages of 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals reflect that she has her hand in a few different directions. She is a defensive player who scraps for steals and loose balls and whose effort can be seen when she ends up on the floor fighting for possession. Offensively, she isn’t the flashiest, but she can score inside, and her instincts for the ball carry over on the rebounding front as well.
[player_tooltip player_id="158525" first="Sage" last="Kramer"] 2022 6’1" PG Philomath HS - Sage helped lead Philomath to an overall 22-1 record while being the 4A favorite Co-Player of the Year for her classification as well. She averaged 17 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 4 steals as she led her team in every one of these categories. On offense, she is a workhorse who scores very efficiently off the dribble and displays a mature mid-range game that is difficult to stop. As a tall guard she is able to play in the post and score inside with finesse. Defensively, she is engaged and can defend the perimeter as well as within the paint.
