ND Pro has what should be one of the top 16U teams in the Dakotas this year.
Here is a quick look
Guards: Tina Freier, Taylor Safranski, Molly Musland, Reagan Hanson, Marissa Burian
Freier could be a breakout candidate next year in Class B for Kindred as she’s been a solid piece the last two years but will be undoubtedly stepping into a more prominent role next winter. She’s an excellent shooter with a knack for making plays off the dribble and her ability to get into people on the defensive end makes her a quality two-way guard.
Hanson started for Grafton as a sophomore and while her spot in the pecking order was behind a host of elite level players, her ability to impact the game on the defensive end of the floor and by making the right plays allows her to be a positive piece. She could have a bigger role on this team with a lot to prove.
Musland was a standout this past year for LaMoure/Litchville-Marion, averaging better than 14 points per game. She’s a solid shooter who can make plays in secondary fashion and her size on the wing is an asset on the defensive end of the floor.
Burian was a steady role player for Fargo Davies last year, knocking down better than 40 percent of her 3-pointers while providing solid defense on the wing.
Safranski is another wing in the Eagles rotation who will have an opportunity at a bigger role in her upperclass years. She’s got good length and has proven she can shoot it from deep.
Forwards: Terryn Johnson, Ava Wild, Cassie Erickson, Autumn Ketterling
Johnson was an all-state selection as a sophomore, averaging a double-double for Kindred. She’s a strong defensive presence, active on the glass and a strong finisher in traffic. Her game continues to get better and better and she’ll be one of the best bigs in the state the next two years.
Wild enjoyed a strong sophomore year in the EDC, averaging nearly 10 points and eight rebounds for a Fargo Davies team that reached the state semifinals. Wild is an efficient interior presence who rebounds at a high level on both ends.
Erickson was a key reserve for Grafton, utilizing her athleticism and size to impact the game on both ends in a complementary role. She’s a solid finisher around the rim and active on the glass.
Ketterling comes from Bismarck Century and will be looking to break into the Patriots’ rotation next winter as an upperclassman.
