Grace Slaughter Grace Slaughter 6'1" | CG Grain Valley | 2023 State MO , a Class of 2023 standout from Grain Valley gave a verbal commitment to Mizzou while 2021 standout Lindsey Byers Lindsey Byers 5'9" | CG Helias | 2021 State MO of Jefferson City Helias gave a pledge to Missouri State University.
The 6’1″ Slaughter is the No. 2 player in the current Prep Girls Hoops Missouri Class of 2023 rankings. She emerged as an immediate impact player as a freshman in leading Grain Valley to the Class 4 state quarterfinals. All she did in her first year of varsity competition was averaged 23.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.5 steals while shooting 52 percent from the field and 35 percent from 3-point range.
The 5’9″ Byers is the No. 59 player in the latest Prep Girls Hoops Missouri Class of 2021 rankings. She is one of the top prospects in Mid-Missouri. A talented guard with good size, Byers averaged 14.5 points, six rebounds, 3.6 assists and 3.1 steals in leading the Crusaders to a their first district championship since 2014.
Missouri State is coming off a 26-4 season and a regular season championship of the Missouri Valley Conference.
