I’m jumping on the San Antonio Finest 2022 class as I’ll get a chance to catch and update many of their players which include the #1 player in Texas, [player_tooltip player_id="65906" first="Ashlon" last="Jackson"], the #1 shooter [player_tooltip player_id="65909" first="Carleigh" last="Wenzel"] and one of the top power forwards, [player_tooltip player_id="135372" first="Christeen" last="Iwuala"] and I’ll break down these players as well as the others I have ranked plus I’ll have my eyes wide open for Kelsie Hawkins, Helena Chadwick, Kori Neal, Zariah Todd and Maya Sanders, some of the names that have been creating some buzz but here are the players from the 2022 San Antonio Finest club I’ve actually seen and are listed in the pre-Top 100
[player_tooltip player_id="65906" first="Ashlon" last="Jackson"] (Hardin Jefferson)
Jackson has WNBA written all over her, don’t if I called her a #D1Lock in the 3rd or the 4th grade but I said #BCSLock and throw away the key before middle school. Size, athleticism, high BB-IQ and just a scorers mindset that understands how to take over or get it in the flow but she also rebounds and defends and plays multiple positions, quite well
[player_tooltip player_id="65909" first="Carleigh" last="Wenzel"] (O’Connor)
I was looking at some of those elementary school pictures floating around on Wenzel and from day one, I loved watching her shoot the ball. The form, the release, and the accuracy have always been there yet she puts in countless hours to perfect it and with that being said, her range is unlimited as she understands how to set defenders up multiple ways
[player_tooltip player_id="135372" first="Christeen" last="Iwuala"] (Reagan)
Iwuala impressed me at the PBR Super 64 last season and impressed me even more at Prime Time’s Summer Elite Showcase but her performance at She’s Ballin Showcase left me somewhat speechless at the jump she’s made. She’s powerful, understands how to do damage in the paint on both ends either by finishing on one end, with players hanging on her, or rebounding on either side
[player_tooltip player_id="135387" first="Amira" last="Mabry"] (Judson)
Mabry is long and athletic and for those who don’t pay attention, that’s the base and I’m basing that on years of knowledge and comprehension second to none. Watching her ignite the break with the outlet and finishing on that same play over and over is something, so is her timing and agility nut good hands and footwork along with her facing the basket for the short jumper
[player_tooltip player_id="135399" first="Alexis" last="Parker"] (Brandeis)
Parker is also long and athletic, well ultra-athletic which is even better and watching her attack relentlessly at She’s Ballin Showcase was enough for me to add her to the Top 100 but after watching her create her shot for the jumper, mid to long range and handle the ball in the open court while seeing the floor and hitting open teammates had me JEFFERSONIZE her, moving on up the list
