One school in particular has been extremely active on the phone lines and offering young up and coming prospects from the Evergreen State. Over the course of the last four days, Washington State University has offered a 2023 and two 2024 prospects, showing that they are keeping an eye on young talent from their home state, despite currently having an international heavy roster.
Wazzu’s 2019-2020 roster featured 8 international players, plus two players out of Hawaii. WSU had just two mainland players on their team and one from the state of Washington. Head Coach Kamie Ethridge is obviously trying to change this with their recent turnaround in recruiting in-state players more aggressively.
2023 Prospect Gets First Offer
2023 5’9 PG Nikole Thomas Nikole Thomas 5'10" | CG Kamiakin | 2023 State WA of Kamiakin High School has picked up her first offer with WSU coming through with an official scholarship offer. Nikole was a bright spot for an otherwise forgettable season for Kamiakin. The young lefty has a good basketball IQ, plays a team game and she possesses great open court speed. Her outside shot is improving some and this is a key area she will continue to focus on. *Feature image
