[player_tooltip player_id="158681" first="Breelyn" last="Sanborn"] was one of the standouts at She’s Ballin Extravaganza that I hadn’t seen in a while but one thing I saw early was her ability to knock down shots, especially under pressure and all of this was in middle school so fast forward to now, a growth spurt, she’s now 6’0, and her transferring over to a new school, St Pius, means the talented 2022 player will be putting up numbers galore. She was one of the top combo guards in the region at Klein Collins, her upside is very good and here are some of the regions other top combos
[player_tooltip player_id="67948" first="Jasmine" last="Shavers"] (Mesquite Horn)
Shavers has always shown the "it" factor and she’s one of the most highly recruited players in the class because she attacks the basket effortlessly and strongly, an and-one waiting to happen but her college-ready body can be a punisher in the paint, along with shooting the ball from the outside and I’m talking mid to long range which also does well and this includes creating her shot under pressure
[player_tooltip player_id="135375" first="Zoe" last="Jackson"] (Allen)
Jackson creates her shot while being defended tightly and has some nice moves that give her options that include attacking off the dribble, that first step is something, or just elevating over defenders for the jumper which she knocks down with ease, over and over
[player_tooltip player_id="136350" first="Trinity" last="White"] (McKinney)
White is another good shooter from mid to long-range and knows how to get her shot off while being guarded tightly. She picks defenders apart at times and understands how to set them up and she can attack the basket strongly and finish after contact but on top of everything she does offensively, she also defends
[player_tooltip player_id="136347" first="Emari" last="Sidney"] (Cy Springs)
Sidney has just been one of those players that kept working on whatever she needed to add on the court and I’ve always spoken about her upside yet she has become one of the areas "go to" players in the clutch, she can drain the long ball, attack from the wing and battle in the paint for rebounds and putbacks
2022
[player_tooltip player_id="96911" first="Alyssa" last="Tarpley"] (Allen)
Tarpley can do a variety of things well, she handles the ball well, she sees the floor well and also has a nice pull-up jumper that, well goes in the basket consistently. She can take defenders off the dribble and that’s where the options on offense come in yet she’s also solid on the defensive side
[player_tooltip player_id="135402" first="Alex" last="Neimeth"] (Cedar Ridge)
Neimeth made a major jump this season showing everything I knew and said was there a couple of years ago and what I’ve always loved about her game is that she can simply fill up a stat sheet and get "hers" in the flow and that’s big in itself yet she also developed into a "go-to" player down the stretch
[player_tooltip player_id="135384" first="Jasmyn" last="Lott"] (Frisco Memorial)
Lott caught my eye in the 7th grade and her court sense, especially the ability to play the passing lane that early was definitely a plus, that and her speed, with the ball because I knew one day that meant layups galore and the day is now. She also can shoot it, nice pull up from midrange and she does good job defending
2023
[player_tooltip player_id="134035" first="Chelsey" last="Singleton"] (Cy Ranch)
Singleton started as a freshman on one of the top teams in the state, a team that produced three D1 players and a team in which she’ll play a huge role in next season. Solid offensive skills, good court sense and plays within herself, doesn’t force yet makes things happen
[player_tooltip player_id="134051" first="Kadia" last="Ward"] (Midlothian)
Ward already has several things going for her, she’s a good ball-handler, she sees the floor well and she has a nice pull-up jumper in traffic but she also has shown explosiveness off the dribble and can maneuver around defenders in the open court and on top of that, she can hit teammates on the money going full speed
[player_tooltip player_id="134052" first="Kierra" last="Merchant"] (Spring)
Merchant was a pleasant surprise a few years ago when I first saw her, she was long, she was athletic and she could score off the dribble as well as hit the pull-up. The range has gotten deeper, that first step is even stronger and smoother and on top of that, she still plays the passing lane
