As I move around the state, the 2024 class is going to bring some heavy hitters to the plate as many have already been labeled as #D1Locks or in the case of [player_tooltip player_id="161562" first="Gwendlyn" last="McGrew"] and most recently [player_tooltip player_id="206964" first="Chloe" last="Mann"] at the #RiseUp Individual Showcase, not to leave out several on the Cy Fair Nike-Elite Coop, you have some #BCSLocks already but keep in mind "talent is everywhere" and I had a chance to catch Rytes Warriors at Shooting 4 Da Cure and this is what I saw
2024
[player_tooltip player_id="206977" first="Emrie" last="Holt"]
Holt is an explosive point guard that sees the floor and anticipates well on defense, that was my first impression a year ago however as you should know by now, #sizedontmatter when you can play and her desire and poise under pressure definitely will keep her relative in the area discussion as she heads to Episcopal HS. She has range and floater and speed doesn’t hurt
Janiya Murphy
Murphy is solid, she’s strong and understands the importance of playing the passing lane but her BB-IQ is solid across the board. She attacks from multiple angles and finishes after contact but her athleticism also helps her apply pressure on the defensive end
Lizzy Roncal
Roncal has good size and a lot of upside but her footwork is steady, she has good hands and gets the positioning part right now, She rebounds, runs the floor and keeps the ball high but she also showed she could finish with contact, against older players
[player_tooltip player_id="206972" first="Madison" last="Bob"]
Bob has a lot of intangibles that stand out already including moving without the ball and doing things instinctively, especially playing the passing lane and watching her in the open court tells me a lot about her potential as she glides to the basket over and over but she also can attack from halfcourt
[player_tooltip player_id="206967" first="Nyla" last="Wold"]
Wold has good size, she finishes and runs the floor after rebounding yet she also showed a different side as the games progressed and that was range as she knocked down the long ball consistently but to give me a little extra, she passes well from the post position
Jaya Johnson
Johnson is another player with the initials JJ that showed plenty of signs that Good Times was coming down the road and she has some untapped potential that could make her DYNOMITE. She finishes and understands the simple things so I’ll be watching
2025
Rihana Deleon
Deleon is one of those players that shows me something different every time I see her and I was already impressed with her court awareness as well as vision as she saw the floor well but I also knew she could drop the long ball however she went on a rampage dropping the three-ball and I’m talking creating her shot off the dribble or the "catch and shoot" which is ever so important
