Hailynn Obregon- 5’5 Guard
Obregon is a tough guard with a blue-collar mindset because she doesn’t mind battling for the ball, on the floor or in the stands but even more impressive was her desire to battle for rebounds against taller players, which she actually won many times because she already gets positioning and I have always emphasized the fact that you can’t teach desire
Tatiana Butenko-5’8 Guard
Butenko shows me something new every time I catch her in action and the first time I wrote about her, I’m sure I mentioned “I love her upside” because I see things the novice evaluator can’t see, well some of the veterans too but she’s more confident, she’s creating her shot under pressure, she’s knocking down the long ball and she’s playing the passing lane but guess what, she ain’t done and still has upside
Addi McClain-5’11 Post
McClain has the makings of being a monster simply because of one main and very important thing, she wants “it” and she hit me prior to the event and told me she didn’t think she did well the first time I saw her against HIGH SCHOOL players but guess what, she did quite well against a new batch of HS ballers, she understands how to use her frame, she has nice and hands and footwork, she gets the outlet out, runs the floor and finishes, defends on the inside and out the paint, trust me, I watch mannerisms, reactions, and things did instinctively and with her size…
Roxane Williams-5’6 G
Williams has a lot of tools to work with and she put many on full display at the Cy Fair Individual Showcase mixing it up against incoming juniors. She creates her shot, under pressure and that was some heated pressure to get her shot off and her pull-up is nice, she understands when to take it and doesn’t force anything and to mix things up a bit, she attacks off the dribble
Mia Lopez-5’9 Forward
Lopez has good size, could double as a small forward but her ability to see the floor was one of the best I saw at the event and sometimes the simplest things are the biggest things in the long run because when you can make that pass, under pressure, one the money, that’s an asset you want on the offensive side but another huge asset was watching her create shot, under pressure of course
Morgan Crockett-5’4 Guard
Crockett was a big surprise for me because I love watching young guards handle the ball under pressure against older players going coast to coast, in the open court or just attacking and her sometimes dazzling handles were packaged together with her ability to see the floor and “thread the needle” that means passes through defenders. I mentioned “attacking the basket” I left out finishing with contact, plus she can shoot the long ball
