This series will take a look at some lesser-known players from smaller schools across Kentucky that have or will tear it up at the varsity level. You might not be able to find their hometown on a map, but that hasn’t stopped them from making a name for themselves.
Gracie Royalty, Lexington Christian (2021) - The lone double figure scorer on the LCA roster last season, Gracie led the Eagles in nearly every statistical category last season and is among the most valuable players to their team in the 11th region.
Keaton Hall, Model (2022) - A volume scorer, Hall is among the best returning scorers in the 11th region this season. She's good at getting to the free throw line and if she becomes a better free throw shooter, she could be scoring 16+ points per game this season.
McKenna Tuttle, Model (2021) - A more efficient scorer than her teammate, Tuttle and Hall make one of the best scoring duos in the 11th region. She put up splits of 52/38/59 last year and could put up even bigger scoring numbers this season if she can convert at the free throw line.
Jamaya Chenault, Frankfort (2022) - The Junior point guard is coming off a great Sophomore season where she averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds per game. Her future is bright as a prospect and her recruiting profile would be higher if she played at a bigger school.
Madison Garland, Somerset (2021) - A Double-double threat every night out, Madison averaged 12 points and 7 rebounds per game for the Briar Jumpers last season. She can score inside and out and is among the most effective scorers in the 12th region.
Lara Akers, Danville (2021) - Akers is one of the top returning players in the 12th region and has Danville in a position to be a regional contender and the front runner for the regional All A title. She's an efficient scorer, averaging 13 PPG on 43/40/75 shooting splits.
Desiree Tandy, Danville (2023) - In her freshman season, Tandy averaged 11 points and 6 rebounds per game as a true post player. She only attempted 3 threes all season and shot 42% from the field. Her potential is high and her game is just getting started developing.
