A great point guard makes a coach's job easier in so many ways. From breaking defensive pressure and attacking defenders to creating space for teammates and delivering pinpoint passes that lead to easy baskets, point guards are often the coaches on the floor. They control the tempo, create opportunities and make everyone around them better. The 15th Region has several talented guards who can score, facilitate and lead their teams. Here are some of the best point guards to watch this season.

The Lady Eagles have the luxury of starting two outstanding point guards, and both bring plenty of problems for opposing defenses. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1302830' first='Allie' last='Slone'] took a major step forward in production during her freshman season, averaging 13.4 points per game. She is an excellent playmaker who can attack defenders, create her own offense and consistently get to the free throw line. Her backcourt running mate, [player_tooltip player_id='934138' first='Karlea' last='Stanley'], is equally dangerous on both ends of the floor. Together, they form arguably the most dangerous backcourt combination in the region.

Williams recently enrolled at Paintsville after playing at Magoffin County last season. Williams is an excellent passer who can also stretch defenses with her ability to knock down shots from beyond the arc. Her playmaking and ability to create space should make life even easier for Kinner, who is already coming off a season averaging nearly 27 points per game. This backcourt combination has tremendous potential.

Ramey makes the move from Paintsville to Lawrence County, bringing valuable experience and production to the Lady Bulldogs.
