Some of the best basketball in the state can be found in non-public schools. Let’s take a look at some of the top backcourts in Non-Public A sections of the state. [player_tooltip player_id="134626" first="Madison" last="St. Rose"] (2022) & [player_tooltip player_id="134610" first="Katie" last="Hill"] (2021) | St. John Vianney St. Rose was one of the top players in the state as a sophomore. She can do it all on both ends of the floor. Her agility and athleticism puts her far beyond most guards she will face. On her other side is Hill. She led the Lancers with 31 made three’s in 2019-2020. She knows how to navigate the perimeter and find an open spot. [player_tooltip player_id="134618" first="Zanai" last="Jones"] (2021) & [player_tooltip player_id="134657" first="Meghan" last="Gentile"] (2023) | Hudson Catholic Jones will enter her senior year as one of the top players in the state. By her side will be second year player in Gentile. She is a big time three-point shooter and a great compliment to Jones. She is a point guard that can score at aill but is also an elite passer. [player_tooltip player_id="134620" first="Janel" last="Moore"] (2021) & Isabella Javier (2023) | Paramus Catholic Moore knocked down 47 three’s as a junior and averaged over four assists per game. She is dominant with the ball in her hands because she can do it all on the floor. Javier broke out during her freshman year as a dynamic option on the offensive end. She will step into an extended role as a sophomore which will help her game. [player_tooltip player_id="134641" first="Alana" last="Robinson"] (2022) & Caryl Fitzmorris (2021) | Pope John Robinson averaged over 10 rebounds per game as a sophomore. She is a 5’9 stretch player that is as versatile as they come. She can play all five positions but excels on the perimeter. She is best with the ball in her hands getting to the basket. Fitzmorris will be one of the top returners for Pope John. She knocked down 28 three’s as a junior and that number can skyrocket in 2020-2021. [player_tooltip player_id="134627" first="Justine" last="Pissott"] (2022) & Sophia Sabino (2021) | Red Bank Catholic Any backcourt with Pissott will be one to watch. She is a nationally ranked player with an elite jump shot with unlimited range. She knocked down 67 three’s and can play with or without the ball. As a junior, Sabino broke out as a duel-threat guard. She will be a nice compliment for the Caseys next season.
