Last weekend I was finally able to get back in the gym and check out hundreds of talented prospects at USJN’s Midwest Qualifier in Lynwood. Here are some rising Juniors that impressed on Saturday:
[player_tooltip player_id="124859" first="Audrey" last="Hinrichs"], 6’1” Forward, Fenwick
A strong interior Post Player with the Chicago Power, Hinrichs uses a great combination of strength and skill to score in a variety of ways. She is a smart player who knows when to use certain moves to gain advantages on the low block. Audrey also has the ability to stretch the floor with her shooting stroke and ball-handling skills on the perimeter.
Isabella Finnegan, 5’11” Forward, Mother McAuley
Finnegan is a skilled stretch Forward with the IL Lady Lightning who can handle the ball well out on the perimeter and step inside with an excellent post game. She plays at a very calm pace without getting too quick with the ball, but can adjust well to the speed of the game. Her jumper continues to evolve from outside and her scoring in the paint comes with excellent touch.
[player_tooltip player_id="158262" first="Kennedi" last="Perkins"], 5’5” Guard, Bolingbrook
Perkins is a ball dominant Point Guard for Baylor Basketball who does everything well. She has great strength to battle against most defenders and has quickness and speed that is hard to match up against. Her scoring abilities are well above average at all levels, including a consistent and confident shot from beyond the three-point line.
[player_tooltip player_id="124851" first="Nayo" last="Lear"], 5’10” Guard, Thornwood
The Example Sports Combo Guard is a dynamic offensive threat with her ability to score at every level. Lear is a terrific ball-handler who uses her speed and shiftiness to drive past defenders on a consistent basis. Her jump shot is pure from deep, but Nayo does the majority of her playmaking in the lane and in transition.
[player_tooltip player_id="124879" first="Amanda" last="Hansen"], 6’2” Forward, Fenwick
Hansen is a tall and lengthy interior Post Player who serves as a dominant rebounder and rim protector. She brings a ton of energy on both ends of the floor for her Chicago Power team, which gives her opportunities to fight for rebounds and second chance opportunities late in the game.
Nyla Walker, 5’6” Guard, Mother McAuley
Walker is a quick Point Guard who can play on or off the ball due to her secure handles and ability to shoot the ball from deep. She has a tough and competitive attitude which helps attribute to her stingy on-ball defense for her Example Sports team.
