<span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Virginia’s Key 2022 Players</strong></span>
Basketball is resuming in spots around the country, however, college coaches are absent in July for the first time during the period due to the pandemic. Player’s are either looking to keep their games sharp, get some exposure via live streams or media coverage. The talent filled commonwealth state has a deep 2022 class and several will be on the court this upcoming weekend. Here are some key players to watch in the 2022 class in the state as they prepare for the pivotal junior season.
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="143239" first="Kennedy" last="Clifton"] - 6’0" - Combo Guard - Bishop Ireton</strong></span>
Kennedy has earned a bunch of MVP hardware in showcases since middle school. She is currently the top ranked player in the class. She is extremely quick and can easily get by most defenders. She has a three point shot and is very efficient in the mid-range. She is very aggressive attacking the basket giving her multiple opportunities at the line where she makes most of her free throws.
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="143229" first="Jaelyn" last="Talley"] - 6’0" - Wing - Paul VI</strong></span>
Jaelyn has been a standout on one of the top WCAC conference teams. She plays well in their system but, has shown the skill and IQ to expand when things aren’t there and breakdown defenders off the dribble. She has a great shot from three and is a really good finisher. Her ability to play multiple positions allows her coach to plug her in in any situation. With huge games a both a sophomore and freshman is lining her up for a breakout junior season as she takes on the leadership role.
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Kayla Rolph - 6’3" - Small Forward - Potomac</strong></span>
Introducing Kayla Rolph as she enters the 2022 rankings at the #3 spot. At 6’3" she moves like a point guard. She is very fast in transition as she able to rbound, start and finish the break in traffic. She can shoot the three effortlessly off the dribble or catch and shoot and is probably more effective and dangerous as a perimeter player as opposed to in the post. It will be interesting to see how her recruitment goes as she continues to improve and more eyes begin to follow her.
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="143131" first="Grace" last="Arnolie"] - 5’8" - Combo Guard - Madison</strong></span>
Grace’s game can transition from point to off guard from play to play which works as her sister Alayna has a similar game and can do the same. They feed well off of each other and will be a great package at the next level as the team won’t miss a beat having them interchange or even play together. The Arnolie’s have good vision and can knock down open shots from anywhere.
