Insider Exposure and FBC teamed up to host War Games 28.5 across the Metro Atlanta area. Here’s a look at who stood out at the star-studded event. <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-188059" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/07/IMG_6799-300x197.jpg" alt="[player_tooltip player_id="188325" first="Sara" last="Lewis"]" width="300" height="197" /> 2023 6-1 [player_tooltip player_id="188325" first="Sara" last="Lewis"] – FBC Legacy UAA – Woodward Academy [player_tooltip player_id="188325" first="Sara" last="Lewis"] turned heads with her length, but more notable her effort. Lewis’ motor ran hot as she flew around the court. She topped the press, she screamed in out of nowhere for offensive rebounds and overall disrupted everything Essence Black tried to do. Lewis was a foul magnet going 8-10 from the line. She piled in 18 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 steals and 1 block. Her growth will be imperative to Woodward Academy’s success. If she can develop a consistent jumper, which it looks like she can considering her soft touch from the foul line, Lewis could become a stretch-four with great value. 2022 6-0 [player_tooltip player_id="188305" first="Ella" last="Grace Squires"] – Peak Webb – Brookwood (GISA) College programs will want to check on the progress of [player_tooltip player_id="188305" first="Ella" last="Grace Squires"] over the next two seasons. She’s already a great shot blocker that can alter game plans. She had 4 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 8 blocks vs. FBC Bouncenation Jay. Squires runs the floor well and not just on offense. She makes hustle plays to get back on defense to protect the rim. Her defense is ahead of her offense, but Squires is heading in the right direction. D-II schools will need to get to Thomasville to watch the defending GISA State Champs. 2021 6-1 [player_tooltip player_id="188315" first="Maya" last="Jackson"] – GA Pearls Jr. National – Archer A sneaky good prospect, [player_tooltip player_id="188315" first="Maya" last="Jackson"] played her role well in a 41-40 loss against FBC United. Jackson had 5 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 block. Jackson has a sturdy build and can get the dirty work done. She sets hard screens and can get inside and bang for rebounds. She might never garner the headlines, but she’s the type of player that is needed to win games. Plenty of schools could use her presence inside. 2023 6-7 [player_tooltip player_id="188326" first="Letycia" last="Vasconcelos"] – FBC United – Holy Spirit Prep Rumored to be heading to Holy Spirit Prep, 6-foot-7 center [player_tooltip player_id="188326" first="Letycia" last="Vasconcelos"] hails from Brazil. For her tremendous size, Vasconcelos is proportionally built and moves extremely well. She finished with 8 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block and had the game-winning layup in traffic late in the game. She does a quality job of keeping the ball high when scoring inside. With some refinement of her post game, which should improve quickly with her nimble feet, Vasconcelos will draw plenty attention from High Majors. 2022 5-11 [player_tooltip player_id="152655" first="Raven" last="Thompson"] – FBC Bouncenation Jay – Langston Hughes Thompson has the size and strength to bully people around inside but also has the skill to handle the ball and push in transition. She moves well for her size and can play 3-5. Thompson posted 5 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists vs. FBC United The Family 16U. 2021 6-2 [player_tooltip player_id="188316" first="Takia" last="Davis"] – FBC Black JG – Calhoun County [player_tooltip player_id="188316" first="Takia" last="Davis"] showed bits and pieces of her upside in FBC Black JG’s loss to FGB. Long and lanky, Davis’ best skill is her shot blocking. She tallied 11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block. Davis converted a few baskets inside and even had a few nice moves with good footwork. She must improve her strength however to consistently score efficiently in the paint against top level competition.
