2021 Rankings – 5 Point Guards To Watch After 100

Most people know that, right now, Michigan is loaded with high school girls basketball talent. The class of 2021 is full of prospects at every level. We’ll look at 5 point guards, ranked below 100, that are must see players for fans, scouts, and coaches. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="175977" first="Lilly" last="Alaspa"] (PG, Sault Area High School)</strong> Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking:  #104 Alaspa is one of the top players in the UP and, in all honesty, could be ranked higher. She showed a ton of improvement in between her sophomore and junior seasons and it should be interesting to watch that growth in her game continue. She is solid initiating the offense and making high percentage plays. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138374" first="Annie" last="Housler"] (PG, Kalamazoo Hackett)</strong> Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking:  #118 Housler got bit by the injury bug that was running around the Kalamazoo area last season. But let’s not forget exactly how good she is and can be. Housler knows how to get the ball to her bigs and can hit post players with a nice entry pass. She can also create on her own and finish or dish. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="174977" first="Dayiana" last="Johnson"] (PG, Detroit Collegiate Prep - Northwestern)</strong> Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking:  #131 Don’t let this talented player sneak by you! For some reason she didn’t get a ton of publicity last season, and certainly deserved more. Johnson is one of the top floor generals in metro Detroit. She has good start-stop quickness and north-south speed. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="175191" first="Elise" last="Besonen"] (PG, Ewen-Trout Creek)</strong> Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking:  #147 Besonen is going to be a very nice college player in my opinion. She has a very high basketball IQ, making it easy to tell that she’s a coach’s daughter. Besonen is a high percentage shooter with 3 point range. She has a well rounded game that allows her to hit virtually every statistical category during a game. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="175807" first="Diamond" last="Williams"] (PG, Flint Beecher)</strong> Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking:  #184 I believe that Williams has a high upside as a prospect. She is best paired with an athletic scorer at the 2 or 3, as she seems to be comfortable as a pass first point. She has nice handles that allows her to manipulate the defense and create for her teammates.
