The PRIME Event gave me a chance to catch several of the Top 100 guards, I only caught a glimpse pf Cy Fair Elite 16U Walker so I missed [player_tooltip player_id="135404" first="Nyanna" last="Robertson"], [player_tooltip player_id="65919" first="Kayla" last="Cooper"] and [player_tooltip player_id="96911" first="Alyssa" last="Tarpley"] in this event, I’ll backtrack to the previous events I saw them play and drop something on them. I also missed [player_tooltip player_id="135368" first="Desiree" last="Wooten"] and her stop and pop with Cy Fair Elite 17U Warren but I don’t have to see players a hunnid times, once I’ve dropped that #LOCK, it’s a done deal, just get ready to throw away the key
[player_tooltip player_id="96915" first="Jamia" last="Harris"]-5’8 SG (Desoto HS) Team Lex Tar Heels
Harris has been very good for a very long time, you just can’t teach what she brings to the table and as she continues to set that same table, her variety of ways to put the ball in the basket had me totally focused as she dropped the "floata" the mid to long-range and just elevated with ease over defenders
[player_tooltip player_id="135363" first="R’Mani" last="Taylor"]-5’6 PG (Shadow Creek HS) Houston Skyrise Elite Edmond
Taylor took some heat as well as bumps and bruises and finished with a busted lip yet she busted the defense and gave them lasting bumps and bruises on her way to several double-doubles including flirting with a triple-double a couple of times
[player_tooltip player_id="135361" first="Nya" last="Threatt"]-5’6 PG (Dulles HS) Texas Flight Elite 17U GUAA
Threatt name doesn’t sound like threat, it sounds like what she has been to watch, a treat and her poise and consistency has always been there, she plays the same way no matter, smart and under control and she understands how to make those around her better
[player_tooltip player_id="65909" first="Carleigh" last="Wenzel"]-5’11 SG (O’Connor HS) SA Finest Cee Lou
Wenzel has mastered so many things on the offensive end that I don’t even take notes anymore, I just relax and watch here shoot it but I do take mental notes and her creating under pressure as well as her catch and shooting with that perfect form and release is just something to see
[player_tooltip player_id="96927" first="Kelliah" last="Walker"]-5’8 PG/SG (Keller Timber Creek) Lady Drive Nation 16U National
Walker has become even more explosive and I look at where she was in the 6th or 7th grade to what she has become and to be honest everything was there except poise and confidence but that’s been there since high school and she continues to prove her legitimacy
[player_tooltip player_id="65911" first="Breanna" last="Davis"]-5’7 PG (Red Oak HS) Lady Drive Nation 17U National
Davis with the pull-up jumper going full speed is just a work of art and seeing her elevate over defenders and hanging in the air for those jumpers or lay-ups is among the best in the state, any class yet she can go full speed and thread the needle or just control the tempo
[player_tooltip player_id="135379" first="Madison" last="Cockrell"]-5’4 PG (Centennial HS) Pro Skills 16U Black
Cockrell has always had an explosive first step and even at a young age she was under control yet an added change of pace and turning the turbo on just like that as well as solid-body control enables her to slice to the basket and finish or dish. Her mid to long is pretty good as well
[player_tooltip player_id="65906" first="Ashlon" last="Jackson"]-6’0 PG/SG (Hardin Jefferson) SA Finest Cee Lou
Jackson can play all Five positions and she’s a hit too, that probably went over a lot of heads since it’s dated and Michael is no longer with us but she is just unbelievable at times as she can do two things, very well, get hers in the flow or just take the game and watching her score double digits consecutively numerous times speaks volumes
[player_tooltip player_id="135366" first="Cammie" last="McKinney"]-5’7 PG (Frisco Memorial HS) Texas Elite 17U 3SSB
McKinney sold me in the 7th grade, her court sense, and her mindset just jumped right out at me not to mention she already had a jumper and could handle the ball. Now, her handling the ball at full speed while seeing the floor and hitting open teammates is a thing of beauty but that jumper is even deeper and very consistent
[player_tooltip player_id="135376" first="Jordyn" last="Marshall"]-5’6 PG (Manvel HS) Texas Flight Elite 17U GUAA
Marshall continues to show shed feels like "she can’t be stopped" and I love when players who actually possess that ability realize it but she gets defenders off balance an umber of ways and can either attack the basket, pull-up for the jumper or use a nice step back but she also can see the floor
[player_tooltip player_id="135367" first="Bailey" last="Maupin"]-5’9 SG (Gruver HS) Texas U 17U GUAA
Maupin finally gave me a chance to see what I had been hearing and since I hear a lot that isn’t what I eventually see, I was overly pleased with watching her take apart defenders. She has a solid midrange game, creates her shot under pressure yet can take defenders either left or right and finish with either hand plus the long ball ain’t bad
[player_tooltip player_id="135388" first="Kenna" last="Gibson"]-5’8 SG (Clear Springs HS) Houston Skyrise Elite 17U
Gibson continues to show she’s one of the best long ball shooters in the state but she also continues to show that she’s more than that and watching her play the one and the two, dropping the three and sometimes four-point play after the foul will have her dancing upwards on the next update
[player_tooltip player_id="135383" first="Kyla" last="Deck"]-5’9 PG/SG (Lone Star HS) Pro Skills 16U-Black
Deck has coaches yelling "all hands on Deck" at times but it doesn’t matter because she can score on just about whoever and whenever she wants and much of that has to do with her powerful attacks on the rim or her pull-up jumpers with players hanging on her. She can handle the ball and bring some heat on defense as well
[player_tooltip player_id="135374" first="Jahcelyn" last="Hartfield"]-5’8 CG (South Grand Prairie HS) Team Lex Tar Heels
Hartfield showed me she was even better than I thought she was and that was really good but I love players that react to certain situations and she’s always aware of her surrounding but I also love players that can do things instinctively, in other words, without thing about and no-look touch passes on the money had me get up from my seat as well as her uncanny ability to attack the rim when it’s not there and finish
