Prep Girls Hoops took in the action this weekend from The Showdown 2020 in Spartanburg. The event featured plenty of talent from around the Palmetto State. Lets take a look at some Palmetto State 2022 Forwards that stood out in performance.

Wilkes is extremely ACTIVE on the floor with her play. Wilkes runs the floor very well and plays extremely hard. Wilkes looks to carve out space down low in the paint with her ability to post up. Wilkes can defend out on the perimeter a smaller player and showed good versatility. Wilkes averaged 14 ppg this past season for the Lady Vikings.

Joseph really likes to play the game on contact. Joseph played with her back to the basket for the most part today. Joseph ran down rebounds out of her area and didn’t mind showing some physicality down low.

Spann playing up a age group with this squad. Spann is extremely vocal on the floor and seems to be in the middle of a lot of plays while on the floor. Spann has good strength in the post and should have a big season for the Lady Gamecocks.

Smith will have a new address this coming after playing last year at Oakbrook Prep. Smith has crazy good academics in the classroom with over a 5.0 GPA. Smith still must get a bit stronger down the road. Smith is very coachable on the floor and she runs the floor very well.

Wright a left-handed post player moves very well around the floor. Wright played the game on contact and was able to finish around the basket. Wright was able to extend the defense with her ability to step-out and hit a 17-19 footer on the perimeter.
