Kameryn Phillips Kameryn Phillips 5'8" | CG Shadow Creek | 2023 State TX -5’9 (Humble HS) Houston Skyrise Cap and Michayla Gatewood Michayla Gatewood 5'8" | PG DeSoto | 2022 State TX -5’6 (Desoto HS) Team Lex Tarheels, aren’t on the list only because of injuries yet trust me, they’ll be back stronger than ever
Loghan Johnson Loghan Johnson 5'8" | CG Tompkins | 2023 State TX -5’9 (Tompkins HS) Cy Fair Elite Warren 17U
Johnson is basically a shooting guard, she scores multiple ways including attacking and finishing strong as well as creating her shot for the mid to long-range however in the open court she actually does a good job of hitting teammates for easy baskets or just slowing it down to run it in the half-court when the rotation has her in that position
Monica Marsh-5’5 (Plano West HS) HG Elite 2023
Marsh made some of my Tip Sheets before she entered high school and her poise and energy played a big part in why she did. That hasn’t changed, not has her ability to score attacking the basket strongly or using her stop and pop in transition yet in the open court she throws pinpoint passes on the money through traffic and handles the ball under pressure to hit open teammates
Kennedy Chappell-5’5 (Dallas Christian HS) Pro Skills 15U-Black
Chappell has a great story on my initial sighting. Her dad was talking to me about the team years ago and all of the talented players on it. He was right about the talent but his daughter dropped six threes including the game-winner and I asked him why he didn’t mention his own daughter and he said “I wanted you to make sure and catch the others” and that has stuck with me since then. His daughter can absolutely shoot it yet she is under control and understands when to push it and who to get it too but her savviness and handling pressure is among the best
Amarachi Kimpson Amarachi Kimpson 5'7" | PG Little Elm | 2023 State TX -5’7 (Little Elm HS) Cy Fair Elite Walker 17U
Kimpson is not only one of the best combo guards in the state, but she’s also one of the best clutch players in the state and watching her knockdown game-winners for what seems like a lifetime has been going on I guess 4 years including one on The Gram I actually captured. She creates for herself and teammates, her pull-up is smooth and consistent in transition, she knocks the long ball down with ease and her poise just overwhelms me at times because she handles pressure as if there isn’t any
Aubrey Reid-5’10 (Austin HS) Cy Fair Elite 15U National Bush
Reid will join many of her teammates on my updated 2023 Top 100 and since she can play the 3/4 that to is a combo. Her jumper has become more fluid and consistent and she creates it nicely under pressure yet she can also attack the basket and finish acrobatically with contact. She has nice moves in the paint and rebounds on both ends of the court but her defense as well as playing the passing lane all add up to something big coming
