MO Phenom Columbia withstood a hot start from the KC Running Angels to post a 66-57 victory. Here is a look at some of the top prospects from that game.
Cierra Smith Cierra Smith 5'8" | CG Grandview | 2022 State MO 5’7″ KC Running Angels: The talented point guard from Grandview was the best player on the floor as she finished with 22 points, six rebounds and three steals. She has great speed and quickness and the ability to score at all three levels. She broke down defenders and scored on nice takes in the lane and also displayed a reliable perimeter shooting stroke. She was also a force on defense with her ball pressure as she picked two pockets in the open court and darted into the passing lanes for another steal. She plays fast, but always under control.
Moriah Putt Moriah Putt 5'10" | SF Ozark | 2022 State MO 5’10″ MO Phenom Columbia: A versatile combo forward from Ozark who finished with a team high 18 points along with her six rebounds. She was equally effective in the post or on the perimeter. She has crafty moves in the post against bigger defenders with the ability to finish with both hands. She cut well without the ball which also resulted in a couple of layups. She can also handle the ball and deliver good passes and also beat defenders on the drive.
Adalyn Koelling Adalyn Koelling 6'1" | SF Helias Catholic | 2024 State MO 6’0″ MO Phenom Columbia: A very talented 2024 wing from Helias who displayed her skills and poise while playing two years up. She finished with 12 points, with a couple of steals and assists. She played the passing lanes and created steals on the defensive end. She is a good ball handler who makes good use of ball fakes to set up defenders and get to the basket on the drive. She also delivered some nice outlet passes to teammates on the fly in transition.
Urya Williams Urya Williams 5'6" | CG Truman | 2023 State MO 5’4″ KC Running Angels: A 2023 point guard from Truman with good quickness and defensive ability. She finished the game with 10 points. She utilized her quickness and ability to change speeds to get herself into the lane. She is very effective in the transition game where he can operate in the open court. Her on-ball defense is also very solid.
Lexi Miller Lexi Miller 5'8" | CG Macon | 2022 State MO 5’8″ MO Phenom Columbia: A very savvy 2022 point guard from Macon who had a big impact on the game without scoring a lot of points. She only scored three points, but she had six rebounds, eight assists and three steals in what was a tremendous floor game. She is an excellent passer who delivered dimes with both hands. Her excellent court awareness also led to a couple of steals and easy baskets for her team. Her feel for the game is very good.
Rylee Denbow 6’0″ Mo Phenom Columbia: A 2022 wing guard from Francis Howell Central who had six points and six rebounds while providing very solid ball handling. She can shoot the 3-pointer, but she can also rip through and make plays off the dribble. She can stay low and make a play with a sound escape move. Her size also helps her be a very effective rebounder.
