North Cobb vs. Elite 77 Lady Dynasty
Ta’Emmica Nation | PG | 5’7” | Elite 77 | 2022 – The Rome high school junior played well in their win over North Cobb. Offensively, she showed good toughness on strong drives and some skill on her euro finishes at the rim. She was able to connect from behind the arc on both attempts with one coming off the bounce in transition. She made strong passes and limited her turnovers.
Nakedria Turner | G | 5’8” | Elite 77 | 2021 – A Cedartown senior with a nice strong frame and good athleticism at the guard position. Turner was very good defensively and used her deflections and steals to create fast scoring opportunities in transition. In the half-court she is best off the dribble where she looks to get downhill and can get to the rim and finish with either hand well.
Shirley Perez | PG | 5’5” | North Cobb | 2022 – Perez, native of Guatemala, picked her spots well on the offensive end. The small guard showed that she could get around defenders and two the rim effectively. She went three for three on her attempts including a nice baseline floater on a strong drive from the corner.
Chism Eziomum | PF | 6’0” | North Cobb | 2023 – A strong rebounder and defender on the interior. She aggressively snatched multiple offensive boards and got her put backs up in a hurry and on target. She made multiple trips to the foul line or converted the basket each time. She seemed to treat missed shots as passes to her. She has good size and moves very well.
Marietta vs. Cass
Chloé Sterling | PG | 5’7” | Marietta | 2022 – A skilled and athletic guard with a natural feel for the floor. Sterling has just returned to Georgia from Japan and is sure to gain college interest quickly. She played very well without forcing any of her opportunities and made good decisions on when to score it herself or pass it to teammates. She pushes well in transition and keeps her head up and eyes down the court. She made great passes all game, setting teammates up for easy scoring opportunities.
Londaisha Smith | G | 5’9” | Cass | 2021 – This was my first opportunity to see Smith and she looked good. A slashing perimeter player that showed a good understanding of the game timing her several back door cuts well for scores. She is a strong driver when she sees a lane. Defensively, she can really keep other guards from getting into the paint because of her strong frame and quick feet and can also be used to defend in the post in spurts.
Gracie Elkins | PG | 5’4” | Cass | 2021 – Elkins, an incoming transfer, is blending in well with Coach Burt Jackson’s system. A small guard that knows where to be for catch and shoot threes. She hit a few from deep in the corner and on the wings. She has a quick release and does not hesitate to shoot it when left open. She also showed that if not picked up in transition she will attack the rim. She also show good vision on a few nice passes to cutting teammates.
