Due to the pandemic, we are in situations we have never imagined. This obviously includes all sports as well, from youth through the professional level. The NBA has done an excellent job keeping players safe, while still keeping the games and season going. The Bubble in the NBA has allowed the season to successfully carry on. What if Michigan high school basketball had a bubble? What players would we want to make sure to see play in our bubble? Here’s a look at players from the class of 2022 that we’d want to make sure are in the Michigan Bubble.

[player_tooltip player_id="147725" first="Lexus" last="Bargesser"] (PG, Grass Lake)
The Michigan Bubble needs to have one of the fastest rising prospects around. Bargesser is playing at a whole different level right now.
[player_tooltip player_id="147747" first="Brooke" last="Daniels"] (PG, L’Anse Creuse North)
Daniels is a must prospect. She’s a slick point guard that can make plays with the dribble and the pass.
[player_tooltip player_id="147728" first="Alaina" last="Diaz"] (CG, Hudsonville)
Diaz is just fun to watch. She’s fast as can be in the open floor and never seems to tire.
[player_tooltip player_id="138344" first="Evie" last="Doezema"] (C, Grand Rapids Christian)
I was really impressed with Doezema’s growth as a player last season. I want to see her continue to rebound at a high level and work the paint on both ends.
[player_tooltip player_id="182916" first="Julia" last="Gilbert"] (PF, Port Huron)
If you want toughness in the bubble, here you go. Gilbert can play through contact and does most of her damage facing the rim.
[player_tooltip player_id="189311" first="Sophia" last="Gray"] (C, Bedford)
Gray will absolutely battle under the rim. We need that toughness in the Michigan Bubble.
[player_tooltip player_id="147761" first="Mya" last="Hicks"] (CG, Ann Arbor Pioneer)
Hicks deserves more pub as a prospect. She has a great basketball IQ and will absolutely scrap on the defensive end. Hicks can play the 1 or the 2 as well.
[player_tooltip player_id="147791" first="Kate" last="Jacobs"] (C, Hartland)
Jacobs has a very high ceiling and her growth as a player over the last year is proving that. I want to see her continue to battle against the best in the bubble.
[player_tooltip player_id="147714" first="Mya" last="Petticord"] (PG, Arbor Prep)
Petticord is one of the top lead guards in the country, so we have to have her in the Michigan Bubble. We won’t want to miss her ball handling, passing, or playmaking skills.
[player_tooltip player_id="147792" first="Dharyanna" last="Pierce"] (SG, Jackson)
We need some explosive players in our bubble, and here’s 1. She’s a firecracker on the offensive end.
[player_tooltip player_id="147770" first="Kaleigh" last="Shaker"] (SF, Fenton)
Shaker has really grown as a player, and we want to see that continue in the bubble. She’s a real threat on both ends at the wing.
[player_tooltip player_id="147719" first="Alecsis" last="Smith"] (C, Bay City Central)
Smith is an elite post player in the state, and has to be in the Michigan Bubble. She’d easily average a double-double.
[player_tooltip player_id="147745" first="Taylor" last="Thompson"] (SF, Grand Blanc)
Thompson is a raw, but quickly developing talent. Fans and coaches will want to see her compete against the best in the bubble.
[player_tooltip player_id="147762" first="Allie" last="Walther"] (SG, Schoolcraft)
Walther has done a great job diversifying her game over the last year. She has proven that she deserves a spot among the best.
[player_tooltip player_id="147713" first="Ruby" last="Whitehorn"] (SG, Detroit Edison)
Whitehorn is an elite prospect nationally, so is a must in our bubble. She has superior athleticism, is outstanding in transition, and can score from anywhere.
[player_tooltip player_id="147724" first="Avery" last="Zeinstra"] (PG, Byron Center)
Zeinstra has had one of the best summer seasons of any point guard in Michigan. She is yet to be slowed offensively.
