Lashiyah Fowler-5’9 G- AD Elite (Connally HS)
Fowler took it to another level at the Alamo City Hoops Combine and her athleticism and energy just overwhelmed me as well as the players she was defending because her heat had me sweating. She attacked from every angle, finished strong, even after contact, and created her shot in traffic for a nice pull-up. That’s just a bit on what she has continued to show, she also plays the passing lane
Grace Abercrombie-6’0 SG/SF- Texas U 17U GUAA (Jacksonville HS)
Abercrombie had me wishing she was from Oklahoma because I was scratching my head on how in the world did I miss her but alas, talent is everywhere and so are teams but this is another “correctable error” as she’s long and athletic, attacks strong and finishes the same way plus she creates her shot, from mid to long-range. Her wingspan enables her to alter, deflect or block on defense, timing plays a part in it too and she rebounds on both ends
Lily Guevara-5’10 G-Austin Elite (Hays HS)
Guevara left me speechless at the Alamo City Hoops Combine because she took everything to yet another level. I had a glimpse of what she brought when her Austin Elite squad scrimmaged the Lady Thunder and I knew she could shoot it but her catch and shoot was consistent throughout the summer as well as creating her shot for a nice mid to long-range combo. Her ability to elevate over defenders is just another plus
Gabrielle Hueter-6’0 G/F Lady Thunder (Magnolia HS)
Huetter rhymes with shooter and if doesn’t, it should because I’ve personally watched her drop 5 threes in a half multiple times, she did it again this past weekend via live stream but she just is hard to control once she gets going because she can handle the ball under pressure in the half-court as well as open court and her release in fluid but she also can score in the paint with solid footwork and an assortment of spins and fadeaway plus she has upside
Taylor Jarrels-5’8 G- Houston Dream Elite (Lamar Consolidated)
Dream is the right team name because she has been a nightmare to defend every chance I caught her. Let me put an asterisk by this eval because the kid has been injured the past two seasons and is totally under the radar yet with that high-velocity offensive game, I’m sure many have taken notice. The jumper is solid, the release is quick and accurate from all over the court and her body control is second to none as she finished after contact with flair
