I can’t tell you how many 10-year-old superstars panned out over the years once they made it to high school so always remember it’s not always where you start it’s where you finish
Amillion Fowler Amillion Fowler 5'9" | SF George Ranch | 2021 State TX -5’9 SF (George Ranch HS)
Fowler made the Top 100 initially after leaving a lasting first impression by leaping over me in the 8th grade. Her amazing body control, as well as that length and athleticism, has always been something that just captivated me but watching her develop that jumper while creating it under pressure not to leave out the stop in pop in transition, what else do I love about her game, she plays the passing lane very well
Crystal Smith-5’8 G (Tompkins HS)
Smith will catapult on the Top 100 next week, yeah I let the cat out of the bag but her changing teams let more than the cat out because she got to play against “next level players” hopefully this is being absorbed and showed she could play with them and in many cases, exploit those who have committed to D1 schools, I can’t make this stuff up, yet I chuckle every time I see her go completely off
Nia McGee-5’7 G (Bellaire HS)
McGee never takes a play off and was one of the main reasons her HS team made the playoffs last season and as I play on words, her play on the court is so much better as she keeps elevating her game. She’s athletic and attacks hard, not to leave out she finishes after hard licks but that defense is aggressive and consistent as she just applies so much heat I see sparks, which is also the team she was on at the Showcase
Shanna Petty-5’10 S/F (Westside HS)
Petty has just progressed every year and after an injury a couple of years ago, she observed the game so much that she implemented that knowledge into what she does on the court which laymen’s terms mean, she understands how to set defenders up and when to take them, either using the jumper or all the way to the basket but her defense ain’t shabby, she mans up a hunnid and keeps the pressure on
Gabrielle Owens-5’11 F (George Ranch HS)
Owens’s nickname is Gabby so I’ll roll “she is a gift named Gab” because she silently fills up stats sheets but wait, it’s what doesn’t show up that’s equally impressive. Yeah she rebounds on both ends and finishes strong, can handle the ball and make solid passes, that’s fine and dandy but she’s on the floor, she’s setting picks or jumping over them to make stops and she gets her teammates going with her energy
Taylor Jarrels-5’8 PG (Lamar Consolidated HS)
Jarrels also has battled injures, in fact, I’ve had college coaches ask me jokingly “please stop writing about her” because they know she’s a steal, which she does very well but her acrobatic finishes could’ve helped save Barnum and Bailey not to mention that jumper with the quick and accurate release which will help a lot of college programs. She too will make a huge debut next week on the Top 100
Jessica Bolden-5’8 G (Travis HS)
Strong guards have been the norm this season and yes, Bolden is powerful, on both ends of the court but defensive guards are big pluses for a number of reasons yet she can create her shot and once she gets to her spot, that pull-up jumper is smooth. She handles the ball fluidly in the open court and did a good job seeing the floor while having pressure applied to her
