They are most likely the leader of the team, leader in the locker, and knows every aspect of the game. There are different types of point guards. Some maybe be a traditional PG and run the offense, setting up plays. Others may be more of a scoring PG looking to get a bucket for their squad. Then you have the defensive minded PG. They look to shut down and cause havoc against their counterparts. Below is our list of PG’s in the class of 2022. Here are a few names you should look out for.
Zoey Wohlleber Zoey Wohlleber 5'6" | PG Waubay/Summit | 2022 State SD 5’6, Waubay/Summit H.S
One of the most intriguing aspects of her game is how she can score the ball so easily. Its not flashy or flamboyant but extremely effective. Wohleber is a scoring PG, not a Russell Westbrooke or Arike Ogunbowale type of scorer. More of the Tony Parker surgical chipping away at points. Five in the quarter, 7 in that quarter. Then when the dusk clears she got a quick 25-30 points.
Rylee Haldeman Rylee Haldeman 5'3" | PG West Central | 2022 State SD 5’2, West Central H.S.
Speed and control are some things you find in a corvette. You could add sleek and smooth. Rylee is a fast PG with great ball control. One of the fastest players with the ball, she can knife through defenders like she’s cutting butter. Her speed allows her to breakdown defenses single handedly.
Hanna Miller Hanna Miller 6'2" | PG Aberdeen Christian | 2022 State SD 6’1, Langford Area H.S.
There’s not too many 6’1 true PG’s walking around. Miller is unique and rare. She walks around with her tall lanky frame, looking over smaller guards and surveying the court. She reminds me of those old school PG’s that would back you down all the way to the paint and just finish over you. Great vision, nice touch and it looks like she’s still growing. She might be a 6’3 PG when its all said and done.
