The Warner Robins All-Stars, Off The Dribble Podcast and HypeSouth combined to hold a one day camp at One Step Away Athletics in Byron, Georgia to give under the radar Middle Georgia talent a platform to showcase their skills in front of media and college coaches. Here are some quick notes on some players that caught my eye.
2024 5-3 PG Alaya Grane – Northside-Warner Robins
My top standout of the day. Tough driver with good ball skills. Stays aggressive when getting downhill, able to create for others. Athletic with long-arms that help her play bigger than her size. Can knock down the open three. Is willing to make the extra pass to set up teammates.
2021 5-11 PF Alayasia Dixon – Wilcox County
Long post presence. Moves well. Can hit mid-range jumper. Has good touch from the foul line. Active rebounder. Alters shots inside.
2022 5-4 G [player_tooltip player_id="156864" first="Tamya" last="Blasingame"] – Lamar County
Athletic wiry guard. Plays with energy. Does a good job getting to the basket. Finishes well in traffic. Will need to work on her left hand. Has a dangerous three-point shot when in rhythm.
2024 5-5 PG Nevaeh Mack – Warner Robins
Able to wiggle her way into the lane where she can make plays for others. Has quality court vision for her age and the confidence to complete tough passes.
2021 5-8 W Chassidy King – Walnut Grove
Got more comfortable as the day went on. Started to find her niche. Inside-out threat, able to score up close and also shoot from the perimeter. Can nail three-point shot when feet are set. Smart passer.
