Grassroots Superlatives: 2021 Best Scorers
Superlatives for the best of the best that I saw this offseason.

Following a cool 36.3 points per game during the high school season, the future Tarheel didn’t slow down much as she continued to pour in the points and make highlight plays throughout the summer. She’s the state’s best scorer and most dynamic player with the ball. If her three-point shot is on, she truly is unguardable at the high school level.
5-10 SG [player_tooltip player_id="148899" first="Jalisa" last="Dunlap"] – Celtics Nard – ELCA – Jacksonville
While Dunlap might not be as big a name as others on this list, she is certainly more than capable of filling it up. As a big guard, Jalisa is a well-rounded scorer that can put up points at all three levels. She’s able to get to the basket and use her size to score in traffic. Dunlap’s a strong shooter and her competitive nature carries her. It will be interesting to see what type of offense numbers she will put up this season now that she’s no longer sharing the load with [player_tooltip player_id="118031" first="Weronika" last="Hipp"] (Clemson).
6-5 F [player_tooltip player_id="118093" first="Sania" last="Feagin"] – Georgia Pearls – Forest Park – South Carolina
Possibly Georgia’s best long-term prospect, [player_tooltip player_id="118093" first="Sania" last="Feagin"] mixes athleticism, size and skill to be Georgia’s most intimidating post presence. The reigning Gatorade Player of the Year is an efficient scorer inside. She has quality footwork to take her man off the dribble and the strength to overpower smaller defenders. She has all the tools to become a great college player and beyond.

The Queen of the GHSA, [player_tooltip player_id="118095" first="Raven" last="Johnson"] has never lost a varsity game to an opponent from Georgia over her first three seasons and she’s hardly ever lost in general. In my handful of games watching Johnson, she’s never tasted defeat. Johnson is the quintessential point guard. She’s a great distributor, scorer, defender and rebounder. Her three-point shot has improved every single year and her footwork when attacking the basket is often impeccable. She can do anything asked of her on a basketball court.
5-7 PG [player_tooltip player_id="118100" first="De’Mauri" last="Flournoy"] – FBC United – Carrollton – Vanderbilt
An electric shooter, [player_tooltip player_id="118100" first="De’Mauri" last="Flournoy"] scores at a high clip at all three levels. She’s money from deep and she’s tough to stay in front of when she attacks the hole. Flournoy knows how to contort and hang in mid-air in the lane to avoid shot blockers to finish off her floaters. She’s an exceptional rebounder for her size and is an extension of the coach on the floor.
