The game began with Ericson over the top pass to Reardon for an easy score. Oregon Elite inbounded to O’Hollaren for a score then O’Hollaren found Hueckman alongside the arc for her first three – of many.
Dazey threw a bullet pass into Arnold as Oregon Elite took the lead 9-8. Hueckman had a nice hanging jumpshot fouled by two free throws. Arnold feeds Dawkins in the post. Hueckman had another unbelievable shot, this time coming off the inbound where she caught the ball from Dazey and threw it up beautifully. It was Hueckman again with a magnificent running floater where she once again showed off her vertical. Wilson hit two free throws as it was Oregon Elite trailing 22 – 27.
It was an O’Hollaren baseline jumper to start things off followed by a Dawkins rebound over the defender put back. O’Hollaren and Arnold helped narrow the lead to 30-32. It was none other than Allie Hueckman who gave them the lead with a three pointer from O’Hollaren as they lead 33-32. Hueckman found Ericson at the top of the key for a three as they established the lead again, 36-35. Reardon scored off an inbounds play. Lindsey Wilson Lindsey Wilson 6'0" | PF Mountainside | 2022 State OR provided some gritty interior play as always, as she drew a huge charge that helped propel her team with momentum.
Ericson to Hueckman on the break, this time for another triple. Prechel hit a timely three and a lay-up, which started a domino effect for Oregon Elite. They began a streak of scoring as they took turns carving at the defense, with an O’Hollaren lay-up and Ericson mid-range shot. Right after she scored, Ericson stole the inbounds and put it in again, as Oregon Elite led 58-44 with little time remaining. Reardon hits two free throws along with an Ericson free throw as the time expired, giving Oregon Elite 17U Gold the 61-51 victory along with the Bronze Championship.

Allie Hueckman: The Savior
Hueckman began her offensive dominance early in the game, establishing herself as the go-to scorer. She stuck three from downtown, but what was most impressive was her wide variety of mid-range shots. These included inbounds plays and floaters, whenever Oregon Elite needed a basket to keep things running they looked no further than Allie. Hueckman’s track and field skills from her time as a high jump champion came into play, as she displayed the uncanny ability to hang in the air over her defenders and score. She was the undisputed MVP as she collected a high game 17 points.
Double the Trouble
Gracie Arnold and Kilyn Dawkins Kilyn Dawkins 6'0" | PF Southridge | 2021 State OR provided a significant twin towers scenario for Oregon Elite, as they collected 18 rebounds between the two. Gracie found ways to score inside as her teammates gave it to her when they needed a score. Dawkins was active and created opportunities off the offensive rebounds. Needless to say, these two were a big reason for success as they held it down in the middle for Oregon Elite, making it difficult for the opposition to get anything done in the paint.
Unselfish Play
The most common denominator in this game was the fact that this team shared the ball and learned how to depend on each other throughout the entirety of it. Between Dazey, Ericson, Hueckman, and O’Hollaren alone there were fourteen assists, which clearly showed you where this team’s head was at during crunch time. Dazey was her usual self, pushing the tempo and finding scorers before the defense could set up. Ericson was making the extra pass that always leads to points. Hueckman, who was such a threat that she caught the defense’s attention immediately and used this to propel her teammates to score. O’Hollaren – the utility player has learned when to take it herself and when to pass as she made the most out of both opportunities.
