There will be a ton of juniors who look to gain more state and national attention during the 2020-21 season. Junior year is an important one for recruiting and taking that next step in a high school career. Players will be ready to make an immediate impact and put their names out there. Let’s take a look at some under-the-radar juniors who look to make noise this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="159084" first="Mary" last="Donnelly"], Manasquan – Donnelly transferred from St. Rose and missed the first 11 games of the season due to transfer rules. She showed flashes of star play in 21 games, however. Donnelly finished with nine double-digit games, including a 24-point, 11-rebound performance in a tight loss to Red Bank Catholic this past February. She had another double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds in a victory over Holmdel in March. In 21 games, Donnelly averaged 10.7 points and 7.4 rebounds. Donnelly can do a bit of everything. She had 10 assists against Monmouth and she showcased capability to make plays on the defensive end, get to the foul line and shoot from the perimeter.
[player_tooltip player_id="159085" first="Rachel" last="Gordon"], Teaneck – Gordon is coming off a positive sophomore season for Teaneck. She put in 332 points in 28 games for 11.9 points per game. Gordon totaled 20 double-figure games on the season. Her season-high was 22 points against Dwight-Morrow and Paterson Kennedy. She also had five games of 10 rebounds.

She averaged 11.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in 29 games of action. She made 69 steals and showcased a nice mid-range game last season. Marquez is active on the defensive end and should have a strong junior year for Rutherford.

Her season-high of 22 points came against Jackson Liberty. In addition, Schlesinger finished with 183 rebounds, 80 steals and 40 made 3-pointers. She is productive on both ends and looks to have another positive season for Marlboro.

She averaged 14.6 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game a season ago for the Wolfpack. She had four blocks apiece in games against Mendham, Morris Tech, Chatham, Montville and Jefferson.
