Nia McGee-5’7 (Bellaire HS) @Neoo_daballer_1
McGee has always been explosive on the offensive end, she has learned to create her shot more over the years and that certainly stood out at the Top 250 Expo as she not only got to the rim whenever she wanted but her jumper was extremely consistent from mid to long-range. Her ball-handling has always been good, so has her passing but her ability to see the floor under pressure as well as her defense added to her arsenal
Markeya Mack-5’6 (Red Oak HS) @MarkeyaMack11
Mack set it off initially by showing her desire and battling for loose balls as well as rebounds caught my attention early. She’s physical on both ends and her defense certainly was impressive as she applied constant pressure yet she also attacked the rim very well and finished after contact. She handled the ball in the open court, showed a nice midrange in transition as well as in the half-court setting and she plays the passing lane
Emma Robles-5’8 (Alvin HS)
Robles plays bigger than what she is, taller too as she understands positioning and actually out-rebounded those over the magic number of 6’0 but she’s heady, can run a team from the 1 position. She shoots the ball well enough to play the 2, she creates her shot off the dribble, handles it well enough to take defenders off the dribble but watching her just make plays no matter what position she was playing brightened my day
Alesha Mattews-5’5 (Kashmere HS)
Matthews is one of those “you won’t outwork me” players as well as one who understands how to get hers in the flow yet she handles the ball well, while under pressure and can all say control it going full speed but she also sees the floor well, makes good decisions and hits her teammates for assists. Her jumper is nice, she knows how to set defenders up and when to take it as well as when to attack the basket
Courtlynn Phillips-5’9 (Lubbock HS)
Phillips is long and athletic, remember I always say that’s the base because that’s a good start and seeing her constantly moving non the court without the ball was as well. She plays the passing lane and after the steal, she can handle the ball coast to coast under pressure while seeing the floor on the move or just attacking the basket. She also can create her shot under pressure, has a nice midrange jumper and she plays solid defense
Karys Olson-5’8 (Denton Guyer HS) @karys_olson
Olson creates her shot very well, she also can handle the ball under pressure and she makes good decisions. She can control the tempo or switch over and be a menace from the outside where her mid to long-range was consistent. What was also consistent was seeing her attack the basket from multiple angles or straight down the middle and finishing with contact wasn’t a problem. She defends, she rebounds and she’s vocal
Madison Clay-5’5 (Manvel HS) @_Madiclay
Clay did a good job on the defensive end, that has become common every time she shows up where I get to catch her and her consistency doesn’t stop there because she plays within herself, understands how to contribute without scoring doing those huge things that may not show up on a scoresheet yet she’s very unselfish, would rather pass first but her mid to long-range definitely was clicking as well as her attacking the rim
