2023
Elyse Sellers-5’10 PF (William J Brennan HS) San Antonio Lady Hoops
Sellers showed me a totally different look at the Duel States Girls Combine, yeah I knew she was long and athletic and played the passing lane, she did that at #TJShowcase yet as I constantly talk about progression watching her slice to the basket from various angle while finishing with contact as well as showing that she can create her shot in traffic for the pull-up has my attention
Zaadiyah Stovall-5’10 PF (Judson HS) San Antonio Lady Hoops
Stovall is, drumroll please, long and athletic and I love watching her playing the passing lane because, after the steal, she handles the ball well enough to turn that into baskets. She attacks nicely as she creates off the dribble and the athleticism enables her to use her body control on finishes but she also has a nice pull-up jumper and she defends
Chayse Goetz Chayse Goetz 6'0" | SF NB Canyon | 2023 State TX -5’10 SF (New Braunsfels Canyon HS) San Antonio Lady Hoops
Goetz buckets deserve a hashtag, #ChayseGoetzBuckets and she has been on fire every time I’ve seen her this season, in fact, she was recently added to the Top 100 primarily for her ability to shoot it from mid to long-range, either by creating her shot, pulling up in transition or one of my favorites, the catch and shoot and yes, she also understands how to shoot it off the screen and one more time, college coaches also love big guards that can shoot
Tyanna Simpson-5’10 PF (Killeen HS) San Antonio Lady Hoops
Simpson has been captured at multiple events I’ve covered and one thing that certainly stands out is her progression every time I see her. She has a good body and understands how to use it be it boxing out and rebounding on both ends or finishing after contact but she also showed she could attack from outside the paint as well as face the basket and score, good upside
Yulissa Yebra-5’11 PF (Nikki Rowe)
Yebra uses her strength well, she showed that by not only rebounding on both ends but rebounding with authority and that’s another one of those #THROWBACK things I love to see. She has good size as well as hands and footwork plus she finishes consistently, with power
Grace Ridoutt-5’8 SF (Taft HS) San Antonio Lady Hoops
Ridoutt was one of many talented players from the San Antonio Lady Hoops squad on hand and after her #AllEyezOnMe performance, my eyes have definitely been on her because she “gets it”, understands how to get hers in the flow, plays within herself, and finds ways to contribute but she creates her shot, that pull-up is smooth and consistent, and she talked defenders off the dribble with either hand and finishes
2024
Nicolette Polocheck Nicolette Polocheck 6'0" | PF Memorial | 2024 State TX -6’0 PF (Memorial HS) Just Play
Polocheck’s upside intrigued me a couple of years ago and she was immediately added to the 2024 Watchlist because of her size, strength, as well as her powerful finishes, so fast-forward to now, she is finishing even stronger after contact, rebounding on both ends of the court as well as handling the ball in the open court on the break. Her facing the basket for buckets has also shot up and speaking of up, her UPSIDE is still intriguing
Lexie Edwards Lexie Edwards 6'2" | C Marble Falls | 2024 State TX -6’2 PF/C (Marble Falls HS) Pro Skills San Antonio
Edwards impressed me enough at the Bigfoot Kingwood Classic to add her to the 2024 updated rankings I dropped recently, no one covers as many players as I do, and being there and knowing what I was looking at sort of puts her in a great spot because I’m catching her early and at 6’2 are going to be calling because she has the body, a nice skillset, and rebounds on both ends but she throws the outlet and runs the floor, other things will fall into place
