The Cal Stars started things off in Arizona at the second session of “The Bubble” by playing a nationally regarded Bella Vista Prep team. They started off things strong and didn’t let their foot off the pedal as they rallied to an easy victory, winning by more than forty points. The most impressive feat regarding this win was that it was a team win in all regards as there were six players with six points or more - as they spread the wealth all over the floor. This is a group that is clearly running on all cylinders as they look to be a well oiled machine - and then some. With their roster fully loaded with some new additions - Jennah Isai from Arizona, a highly touted recruit with the blue blood programs knocking on her front door. [player_tooltip player_id="189641" first="Jordan" last="Allred"] of Miramonte continued to show her all-around game as [player_tooltip player_id="103555" first="Marley" last="Langi"], Makena Mastora, and [player_tooltip player_id="103658" first="Calli" last="Stokes"] continued to show their eclectic and solid fundamental all-around game. Oregonians [player_tooltip player_id="158473" first="Aaronette" last="Vonleh"] and [player_tooltip player_id="158475" first="Audrey" last="Roden"] illustrated their fundamental ability to fit in within the grand scheme of things for the Stars. [player_tooltip player_id="102659" first="Jessica" last="Peterson"] and [player_tooltip player_id="163093" first="Talana" last="Lepolo"] had shining moments for the collective as well. Jennah Isai 2022 5’11" SF Cal Stars/Valley Vista HS - The sharp, aggressive forward showed her intensity on both sides of the ball - as she has tunnel vision offensively in her merits in collecting points. Defensively, she is a pest who plays all 94 feet of the floor, her trademark move is the side swipe which worked for her three times and ended in easy transition points. Contributed a 9 point, 3 rebounds, and 4 steals for Cal Stars. [player_tooltip player_id="103555" first="Marley" last="Langi"] 2021 6’0" SF Cal Stars/Archbishop Mitty HS - Marley had another traditional blend of skill and finesse as she found ways to produce and involve others with her crafty game. The UC-Davis signee is a two-way player who is the most dangerous in the transition game as an elusive point forward who makes electric plays look routine. Had a nice fake left, go right step back jumper - very illustrative of her skilled and refined offensive arsenal. Contributed 6 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. [player_tooltip player_id="158475" first="Audrey" last="Roden"] 2021 5’9" SG Cal Stars/West Linn HS - Roden is the sharp shooting, aggressive slasher we have seen throughout the summer, but another key to her game is her grit and determination on defense as a rebounder and on-ball defender. She isn’t afraid of rolling up her sleeves on defense as she takes a lot of pride in being an established two way player. Contributed 9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. [player_tooltip player_id="189641" first="Jordan" last="Allred"] 2021 5’10" SG Cal Stars/Miramonte HS - Allred is the steadfast cerebral guard whose base and nucleus is all based on fundamentals and discipline and she helps make the Cal Stars that much more consistent. Her ability to score from the perimeter and inside helps them tremendously as she is also a pivotal defender who fills up the stat sheet through effort alone. Contributed 9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, and 2 steals. [player_tooltip player_id="103658" first="Calli" last="Stokes"] 2021 5’11" SG Cal Stars/Redondo Union HS - Stokes is a refined rebounder who gets the job done with tremendous consistency her timing and aggression is something to behold - at both ends of the floor. She is also an established mid-range shooter who can score all over the floor and her size helps her finish at the rim with authority. She contributed 6 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals for the Cal Stars in an efficient, well mannered game. [player_tooltip player_id="158473" first="Aaronette" last="Vonleh"] 2021 6’3" C Cal Stars/West Linn HS - Vonleh continued to show everyone out there that she is amongst the Stars’ most prolific options in the paint, as she is simply difficult to stop once she has position. She is also the centerpiece of the defense as she is a big-time two way player. Vonleh contributed 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal for the Cal Stars. [player_tooltip player_id="102659" first="Jessica" last="Peterson"] 2021 6’3" C Cal Stars/Etiwanda HS - The Fresno State signee is amongst the Stars’ most rugged rebounders and determined defenders in the paint, as she has a disciplined and physical approach to the game. She was incredibly productive during her time out on the floor and showed the ability to take it to the rim from the top of the key. The Etiwanda center contributed 4 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block for the Cal Stars.
