[player_tooltip player_id="136345" first="Niyah" last="Johnson"] (Clear Springs) wasn’t on hand, I believe she was in a different event and I totally missed the "Dynamic Duo" of returning TAPPS 6A State Champions [player_tooltip player_id="65876" first="Jada" last="Malone"] and [player_tooltip player_id="96125" first="RyLee" last="Grays"] (Village School) battle against one of the top 6A squads Steele and their big [player_tooltip player_id="136351" first="Asjha" last="Leake"], well I also missed [player_tooltip player_id="136342" first="Tierra" last="Simon"] (Heights) however when you’re soon to be 5-year-old granddaughter personally invites you to her birthday celebration and tells you "Paw Paw, you have to be there" well that takes precedent however I did catch some that just grabbed me
Shadow Creek
[player_tooltip player_id="97626" first="Bre’Yon" last="White"] is heading to Oklahoma after the season is over and her sheer desire and smoothness has always been a joy from day one and she banged consistently while also showing finesse finishing after contact while Rachel Anderson and her sheer strength has always been intriguing and I love watching players finish with players hanging on them
Langham Creek
[player_tooltip player_id="135377" first="Saija" last="Cleveland"] is a power forward with range yet she also can take defenders off the dribble and finish with contact, not to mention be a menace on the boards, especially on the offensive end where she gets putbacks galore
Clear Springs
I mentioned no [player_tooltip player_id="136345" first="Niyah" last="Johnson"] yet Reina Nasir, not sure of the spelling, showed she could be serviceable during the season because she’s long and athletic, that’s the base and she’s active and alert which also is good
George Ranch
Gabby Owens doesn’t even surprise me anymore, she’ll be upgraded, yeah she powered in the paint and dropped the three ala catch and shoot however Jada Howard did surprise me, I knew she was good but I’m seeing a breakout season coming
Cypress Creek
[player_tooltip player_id="97930" first="Taylor" last="Jackson"] still isn’t going at a hunnid percent however I expect her and Ri’yah Francis to be one of the best duos in the area once everything falls into place. Both are powerful on the inside and can finish as well as rebound strong on both ends of the court
Jersey Village
[player_tooltip player_id="206957" first="Ma’Riya" last="Vincent"] ain’t no post yet she will have to play it but I expect the just added 2024 to send a message earlier because she can GO and watching her attack and finish after contact to leave out SNAGGING the ball out of midair for offensive rebounds and putbacks brought back memories
Austin Westlake
Gwen Gilmore is over the "magic number" of 6’0 and the magic she performed yesterday will have her on my next Top 100 plus update. Don’t know how I missed her yet she’s a perfect example of "talent is everywhere" and her inside-outside barrage of points was huge
Cedar Park
[player_tooltip player_id="96925" first="Shelby" last="Hayes"] put on one of the best inside performances I’ve seen this year, not just club season, all of 2020, and her overpowering mindset of "refusing to be denied" just set the stage against Cypress Creek by finishing every way imaginable but I really hate I missed her match-up with Malone and Grays which I’m sure was a BCS extravaganza that apparently went down to The Wire yet I can’t do a do-over, pun intended
