In an effort to highlight the the <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/nebraska/rankings/2021-rankings/">PGH Nebraska rankings</a> in the most complete way possible, I've divided the 2021 class into 3 ranges: 1-25, 26-50, and outside the top 50. For each range I have chosen who I think are the best shooters, rebounders, passers, and scorers – 5-6 players for each category – and identified what makes them successful. Here are the best senior scorers in the 26-50 range.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="94474" first="Elle" last="Ravenscroft"] - </strong>Cody-Kilgore</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Position:</strong> SF<strong> Height:</strong> 5’7"<strong> 2019-2020 Pts./Reb./Ast.: </strong>20/9.1/2</span>
Elle is a three-level scorer, but never settles for the easy jumper. She is always probing, switching up pace and keeping defenses guessing. She is very effective in the lane, stepping through defenders with balance and grace. She shot almost 50% from the field and go to the free throw line often.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="94404" first="Addison" last="Heidemann"] - </strong>Diller-Odell</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Position:</strong> SF<strong> Height:</strong> 5’10"<strong> 2019-2020 Pts./Reb./Ast.: </strong>14.5/2.6/1.1</span>
The Iowa State volleyball commit led her team in scoring a season ago, and she could see a bump in usage in her senior year with the loss of Emily Swanson (12.1 points/game) to graduation. She is excellent from distance (40% from 3-point range), but will put it on the floor and attack aggressively when needed.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="94437" first="Whitney" last="Bauer"] - </strong>Elm Creek</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Position:</strong> PG<strong> Height:</strong> 5’7" <strong>2019-2020 Pts./Reb./Ast.: </strong>13.8/4.2/3.5</span>
Using pace and misdirection, Whitney is able to attack defenses in several ways. She is comfortable with the jumper off the dribble, from distance or around the elbow. She does not need the ball though, cutting at the right times, and using her body to wall defenders and create space.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="94465" first="Paige" last="Furstenau"] - </strong>Neligh-Oakdale</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Position:</strong> PG<strong> Height:</strong> 5’6"<strong> 2019-2020 Pts./Reb./Ast.: </strong>14.8/7.2/3</span>
Paige is one of the more complete players you’ll find in this class. She is excellent in the pick and roll because she plays with pace and direction as well as anyone. Sometimes her movements on the court seem erratic, going East-West or North-South for no apparent reason, but it’s always to get her defender off-balance and out of position. She has great ball fakes and body feints. Her floater is very polished for this level.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Illycia Guerue - </strong>Morrill</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Position:</strong> SG<strong> Height:</strong> 5’6"<strong> 2019-2020 Pts./Reb./Ast.: </strong>19/7.1/3</span>
Illycia has excellent touch around the rim. She can break out the reverse layup, put one high and soft off the glass, and has grown more comfortable with her floater. She led the team in 3-point attempts but only shot 23%. I don’t believe she always shoots with a set and balanced base which effects her consistency, but there is room to grow and lots to be happy with right now.
