There was a lot of talent in the building for the Minnesota Top 250 and with over 190 players it was tough to stand out. However, there were quite a few players in the 2021 class who shot the ball very well. Below I take a look at the five players who I saw shoot the ball the best. Next up we will take a look at the top passers that I saw at the event.

Kneepkens was by far one of the top shooters in the gym. Each time she had the ball in her hands she either looked to attack the basket or shoot the ball. She was able to make a lot of noise in the gym with her shooting ability because she was knocking down shots from both beyond the arc and in the midrange.

[player_tooltip player_id="109800" first="Amaya" last="Doree"] - 5’7 G - Champlin Park HS
Doree’s athletic ability stands out quickly and a lot of kids will be recruited solely on the basis of their athleticism. Not Doree, she’s a good defender and passer but her ability to knock down big shots stood out at the Expo. She wasn’t a player who was draining shots from behind the arc all day but within the 2021 class she was making shots that she needed to.

[player_tooltip player_id="109785" first="Piper" last="Terry"] - 5’9 G - Minnetonka HS
Known as a very good and able bodied defender, I thought that her shooting ability stood out at the Top 250. Terry showcased a very solid looking shot off the catch and was able to dribble into some pullups that she made. I think that if she can continue to shoot the ball at a high rate then she will generate a ton of college interest this upcoming season.

Izzy Goettleman - 5’7 - Winona Senior HS
Goettleman is much of an unknown because she does not play AAU and her high school team is not one of the top programs in the state. However, I came away very impressed with her at the Top 250. She had the speed to create her own shot and knocked down quite a few jumpers from beyond the arc. Her quick release helps her get into her shot and she’ll be an asset to a program looking for shooting.

[player_tooltip player_id="109748" first="Ivane" last="Tensaie"] - 5’6 PG - Concordia Academy HS
Tensaie needed a big Saturday and she definitely got it. While she has a lot of good things to her game I thought that my biggest takeaway was her ability to shoot the ball. She looked confident with the ball in her hands and everytime she shot it I expected it to go in. She was able to get her shot off in space and she was also able to knock down quite a few open looks too.
