College coaches looking for some good post players next year still have some great athletes available!

[player_tooltip player_id="217536" first="Chelsi" last="Hodges"] | Watauga

Hodges does an excellent job of using the defender’s position to her full advantage as she moves their bodies where she wants them to go in order for her to score. She does this well without the ball, too, making sure she is in the best position to receive an entry pass in order for her to make a contribution. She isn’t scared of any kind of contact making sure she gets the opportunity for an old fashioned three point play opportunity. She has a nice midrange jump shot that she can show off as well. Hodges is determined to grab every rebound that is available to her on both ends of the court, and she uses the second chance opportunities to score more points.

[player_tooltip player_id="217530" first="Diamond" last="McDowell"] | Asheboro

Standing at 6’1,” McDowell has an ability to see the court and know exactly how she needs to move her body to score. She can catch a pass outside the paint and use good ball handling skills to move her way to the basket to score. She can also take the ball all the way up the court on fast breaks herself. Her ability to score certainly isn’t limited to right by the basket, though, as she does have a nice shot from downtown. Her vision translates well to the defensive side of the ball as well as she knows exactly how to track a pass to make a steal or track a player in order to close in for the block. This also helps her find the ball bouncing off the backboard for some rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id="217524" first="Imari" last="Knight"] | Central Cabarrus

Knight is a threat all over the court from her ability to blow by defenders to score a basket or shoot from downtown. She is very unselfish with the ball, too, finding open teammates for them to make a contribution showing that she has great vision of the court. She is aggressive when handling the ball, and she knows how to be an effective defender jumping into passing lanes preventing opponents from getting a play together. She has the ability to guard all five positions on the court. She seems to play in a calm manner always knowing the best ways to move with the ball to score or move without the ball finding the open areas on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id="172618" first="Aliciah" last="Fields"] | Northwest Cabarrus

Fields is a very athletic post player who can make dynamic moves with the ball in addition to pushing the ball up the court herself. She fights for every rebound, and she knows how to make post moves effective in scoring. She can score from many areas of the court making her very difficult to defend. Her length and the springs she has in her feet allow her to jump into passing lanes out of nowhere it seems. This also allows her to jump in front of shots racking up blocks on her stats sheet. She isn’t scared of fighting through contact. Her persistence to score and grab every rebound is something you want to see in every post player.

Gracie Breckenridge | Independence

Breckenridge uses all of her 6’2” height to her full advantage. She is always prepared to score whether she is showing off her spin move towards the basket or she is shooting a nice midrange jump shot to score her points. Players trying to score inside the paint have a lot of trouble with her length in there blocking shots. These blocks quickly turn into steals that she helps push up the court. Opponents hoping to get second chance points find that near impossible, too, with her by the basket looking to grab the rebound herself. She runs the floor very well getting back to block shots on fast breaks or looking for a pass herself in order for her to score in transition.
