A number of Florida’s top 2021 girls prospects have made early decisions on where they will be attending college. It started with Samara Spencer Samara Spencer 5'8" | CG St Thomas Aquinas | 2021 State FL to Arkansas back and ever since then the 2021 Florida prospects have been flying off the board!
Samara Spencer Samara Spencer 5'8" | CG St Thomas Aquinas | 2021 State FL (St. Thomas Aquinas / Miami Suns) – ARKANSAS
Making the move from Florida Future and Fort Myers High School to the Miami Suns and St Thomas Aquinas, Spencers recruitment really picked up its pace spring 2019. Putting up big numbers during the April and May evaluation periods, Spencer got serious about several schools quickly and took advantage of the opportunity to take unofficial visits. She eventually settled on Arkansas making the early verbal commitment after visiting campus in the fall. The athletic, scoring combo guard seems like a natural fit for Coach Neigbors dribble drive offensive system and was the first 2021 to commit, getting the ball rolling for others to follow.
Jordan Rosier Jordan Rosier 5'7" | CG Florida State | 2021 State FL (Florida State University HS / Central Florida Elite) – SOUTH ALABAMA
Rosier had solid showings this past summer with Central Florida Elite on the EYBL circuit and with Florida State University HS making a deep run in the state tournament. The 5’9 guard has been instrumental in FSU success averaging 15 PPG in three years of varsity play. Picking up an offer from Sun Belt Conference member South Alabama one year removed from a 25-11 season and an appearance in WNIT, Rosier chose the Jaguars in Mobile, AL just 4 hours away from Her home in Tallahassee.
Erin Turral Erin Turral 5'6" | CG FAMU DRS | 2021 State #77 Nation FL – Stony Brook (FSU HS / FGB) – STONY BROOK
Turral has been one of the states most prolific scorers for the past 3 years. What she lacks in size, she makes up for in heart and skill. She plays hard and with a ton of energy on both ends of the floor and can drop buckets in a hurry. Stony Brook has had some success with smaller guards and Coach McCombs will put the ball in her scorers hands. It should be an exciting 4 years to watch Turral at Stony Brook!
Emma Wallhoff Emma Wallhoff 5'10" | CG Westminster | 2021 State FL (Westminster Academy / Team Knight) – SOUTHERN MISS
The 5’10 sharp shooter has been one of South Florida’s most deadly perimeter shooters for the past few years. She has suited up for Westminster Academy’s varsity squad since her 7th grade year and recently surpassed 2,000 career points. Her deep range and 3 point accuracy will really help Southern Miss spread the floor.
Bella Weary Bella Weary 5'6" | CG DME | 2021 State FL (DME Academy / East Coast United) – USF
Weary picked up an offer from USF in the spring and didn’t waste any time accepting it, verbally committing to Head Coach Jose Fernandez and the USF Bulls staff just several weeks later. The 5’7 shooting guard had a big Junior year for DME Academy in Daytona Beach averaging 20+ points per game and has been one of the spring/summers biggest stock risers. She is a skilled scorer who can shoot, pass, drive, finish at rim, and handle the ball. I think her best basketball is still ahead of her as she continues to improve every time I see her!
Ja’Leah Williams Ja’Leah Williams 5'9" | CG Blanche Ely | 2021 State FL (Blanche Ely HS / Team Knight) – MIAMI
Fresh off a state championship and Broward County player of the year honors, Williams is the most recent 2021 commit, announcing it on social media through a video to the University of Miami. Williams has long been one of University of Miami’s top prospects having followed her throughout middle school and into high school with her travel team Team Knight and high school team Blanche Ely. Williams averaged 18 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds and 5 steals per game last season as a junior leading the Blanche Ely Tigers to a state championship and was named Broward County’s Player of the Year in Class 6A-7A by the Sun Sentinel after having been a 1st team All County nominee her Freshman and Sophomore years. She notes the desire to stay home, her relationship with Head Coach Katie Meier and staff, the programs playing style, and the close knit relationship within the community and team as her deciding factors.
Tatyana Wyche Tatyana Wyche 6'2" | C American Heritage | 2021 State FL and Taliyah Wyche Taliyah Wyche 6'2" | C American Heritage | 2021 State FL (American Heritage / Team Knight) – FLORIDA
The Wyche twins recruitment was relatively quiet until things picked up for them during the 2019-20 HS season. Having strong showings at several showcase events at She Got Game in DC and Polk County Hoopfest and New Years Classic they picked up interest and offers from TCU, Florida, Seton Hall and others. Ultimately the twin sisters chose to stay in state and play at the University of Florida. They are long, extremely athletic and active and impact the game as rebounders, shot blockers, rim runners, and can step out to the short corner and high post.
Triniti Youngblood Triniti Youngblood 5'7" | CG Brooks DeBartolo | 2021 State FL (Brooks Collegiate / East Coast United Murray 2021) – SAINT LEO
The strong distributing guard is an average athlete but what she lacks in athleticism, she makes up with in skill, basketball IQ, and leadership. She plays hard and aggressive on the offense end doing an excellent job getting into the paint and drawing defenders, creating shots for her teammates. She has a strong build and finishes well at the rim vs contact.
Aleah Sorrentino – (Florida Prep / East Coast United) – OLE MISS
Sorrentino has actually early enrolled at Ole Miss and is currently attending classes technically making her part of the 2020 class.
