Final: Oregon Elite 70, EBO 17 3SSB 60
Oregon Elite took on an athletic and resilient squad from San Diego in that of EBO 17 3SSB, a program articulated by coaching mastermind Marlon Wells who has had immense success in girls basketball for the last two decades (San Diego HS and The Bishop’s School). As of recent, Marlon Wells coached Destiny Littleton (now at South Carolina) at The Bishop’s School, as she averaged 42.7 points her senior year on the way to becoming CIF’s all-time leader in points over California greats Charde Houston (San Diego HS), Cheryl Miller (Riverside PolyHS), Diana Taurasi (Don Antonio Lugo HS), Lisa Leslie(Inglewood Morningside HS), and Candace Wiggins (La Jolla Country Day)- to name a few.
EBO showcases players from Marlon’s very own The Bishop’s School talent in that of [player_tooltip player_id="102668" first="Jada" last="Davis"]-Mack, [player_tooltip player_id="103365" first="Renee" last="Chong"], [player_tooltip player_id="49279" first="Angelina" last="Robles"], and Natalia Sierra. Oregon Elite spurted off to a 19-7 lead as Dani Starr began her efforts early as she ended up with a team high 14 points - scoring from mid-range as well as alongside the arc. [player_tooltip player_id="158479" first="Schuyler" last="Berry"] was an established rebounder in the paint and newcomer from Crane HS Kelsie Siegner was a significant producer as she ended with a game high 6 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. By halftime, Oregon Elite led 39-27 as they played a sensational inside-out game.
[player_tooltip player_id="158478" first="Natalie" last="Lathrop"] was another significant contributor as she hoisted down rebounds and held down the paint against Jada Mack-Davis - one of the top forwards in Southern California with multiple Division 1 interest. [player_tooltip player_id="103365" first="Renee" last="Chong"] was on fire as she routinely made some difficult three-pointers as she averaged 13.8 pins, 3.3 assists, and 4.8 rebounds as a junior at Bishop’s. However, Oregon Elite’s lead was a commanding one as EBO chipped away at it in the second half, but it was just too late as Elite would hold on to win this one in a convincing fashion in a 70-60 victory.

Breakdown:
[player_tooltip player_id="103365" first="Renee" last="Chong"]
Chong is a slick, cerebral off guard with the ability to pull-up at any given second as she showed off her tremendous range. She doesn’t need a lot to get off a shot at any moment as she let Oregon Elite short notice throughout the game. Chong is also a guard with a lot of exuberance in the open court who knows how to find her teammates as she plays at a commanding pace with a lot of structure and balance. Chong was difficult to stop for Oregon Elite as a three-level scorer who is incredibly skilled and polished - as she has many ways to hurt you from all sorts of different angles and with creativity.
[player_tooltip player_id="102668" first="Jada" last="Davis"]-Mack
The first thing that strikes you about [player_tooltip player_id="102668" first="Jada" last="Davis"]-Mack is her size and solid frame as upon first glance she is a formidable basketball player. On the basketball court, you notice that she is productive and will grab rebounds out from above and plays with a high motor on both ends of the floor. She has a few post moves that she goes to and is still developing an offensive feel but her raw talent alone is the very reason for her Division 1 suitors. She is a nightly double-double threat who gets the job done on god given talent and the fact that she is still developing as a player is a scary thought for her opposition.
Oregon Elite New Faces
Kelsie Siegner is a newcomer for Oregon Elite as a serviceable forward who plays with a lot of confidence who simply makes plays whenever she is out on the court. The Crane product chipped in a superb 6 point, 5 rebound, 2 steal effort as an all-around player who doesn’t wait for an opportunity to happen - she creates her own. [player_tooltip player_id="158555" first="Keelie" last="O’Hollaren"] has been a staple within the Oregon Elite program for the past summer, but this served as the first time she played up on the Oregon Elite Navy squad. She proved that she more than belonged as she had a spirited 9 point, 3 rebound performance as a microwave type of player who doesn’t need any plays ran for her - she simply produces with the amount of touches she gets and in an efficient and effective fashion.
Team Effort
Oregon Elite had an incredibly eight players over 5 points or more- led by Dani Starr’s 14 point total. This was an ode to the all-around team structured play Oregon Elite showcased as they moved the ball, never forced the subject and were able to get touches to everyone. With production from [player_tooltip player_id="158525" first="Sage" last="Kramer"] and Hope Hassmann to forwards [player_tooltip player_id="158479" first="Schuyler" last="Berry"] and [player_tooltip player_id="158478" first="Natalie" last="Lathrop"], the production was throughout the frontline and down the center as Oregon Elite certainly had a team effort from top to bottom. [player_tooltip player_id="158476" first="Sydney" last="Burns"]’ and [player_tooltip player_id="158486" first="Cami" last="Fulcher"]’s 9 assists combined also showed that teammates were always looking for each other and it wasn’t about who scored, but about how often they could get clean looks at each other.
