<span style="font-size: 18pt;"><b>Big East- North Conference: Preview <img class="size-medium wp-image-181857 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/06/PGHFeaturedImage4-300x168.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="168" /></b></span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Mishicot tied for first in conference play last season with a 17-2 record. The team was led by </span><b>[player_tooltip player_id="132363" first="Kylie" last="Schmidt"]</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> and</span><b> [player_tooltip player_id="202240" first="Desiree" last="Kleiman"]</b><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Schmidt finished with 18.6 points per game and 10.5 rebounds. The Purdue Northwest commit also led her team in assists with 3.3 points per game. Kleiman finished second in scoring with 11.6 points per game and 5.5 rebounds. </span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Howards Grove also finished with a 17-2 conference record last season. The team was led by</span><b> [player_tooltip player_id="202267" first="Mackenzie" last="Holzwart"]</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> and </span><b>Maddy Near.</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Both prospects earned First Team last season. Holzwart finished second in the conference in scoring with 15.6 points per game. The point guard is a floor general who can control the pace on the floor, Holzwart has fantastic court vision and will be the go to player to find her teammates open. She averaged nearly 4 assists per game last season. She can knock down the three point basket as well. </span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">St. Mary Catholic finished with a 14-5 record last season. The team was led by graduate </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Rosie Butler</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;"> who earned First Team and added 13.7 points per game. Sophomore </span><b>[player_tooltip player_id="156056" first="Chloe" last="Vogel"]</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> will be looked to replace the big role Butler held last season. Vogel should have no problem doing so as she showed glimpses last season of how elite she can be. She earned Second Team as a freshman. </span><b>Jaydin Vosters</b><span style="font-weight: 400;">, a 5’10 F will be essential for grabbing rebounds in the post this season. St. Mary Catholic used Vosters very successfully last season in the pick and roll. She averaged nearly 12 points per game. </span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Manitowoc Lincoln finished fourth in the conference with a 8-11 record. The team was led by junior </span><b>MonRaye Ermis. </b><span style="font-weight: 400;">Sophomore guard </span><b>Jenna Lischka </b><span style="font-weight: 400;">played some huge minutes for her team last season as well. She averaged 8.4 points per game and knocked down nearly 25 three point baskets. Look for her to be an even bigger offensive threat this year. A defensive standout as well, Lischka will more than likely guard the opposing team’s best player. </span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">The rest of the conference consists of Hilbert, Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah and Reedsville.</span>
<b><i>Take a look at a few returning players posed to make an impact this season.</i></b>
<b>Laney Halbach | Hilbert | Junior | 5’11 F </b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Halbach finished leading her team in scoring with 15.2 points per game. She attacks from anywhere on the floor and creates for herself off the dribble. She can pull up mid range which is amazing for someone her size. She’s most effective in the lane but will knock down the three point basket if left open. Halbach is extremely fierce on the boards as well, she finished averaging nearly 7 rebounds per game. In a game against Sheboygan Chrisitan, Halbach grabbed 14 rebounds for her team. </span>
<b>MonRaye Ermis | Manitowoc Lincoln | Junior | 6’2 F</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Ermis is a force on the court and a beast in the lane. She’s a two-way guard that plays a huge role for this squad’s success. She averaged 8.7 points per game in scoring and 8 rebounds- leading her team in both. She’s fast in transition play and great at drawing the foul in the lane. Her height is intimidating for her opponents and she does a tremendous job using her height and balance to block shots. The Second Team select finished with 64 blocked shots last season. </span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="156056" first="Chloe" last="Vogel"] | St. Mary Catholic | Sophomore | 5’8 G </b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Vogel is an extremely athletic and impressive guard. She cuts well and has impressive handles attacking the basket. Averaging nearly 14 points per game as a freshman, Vogel did well in the big moments and rarely seemed flustered on the court. She can defend as well. She averaged 2 steals per game and made a huge impact on the defensive end. </span>
<b>Maddy Near | Howards Grove | Senior | 5’11 F</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Near finished second on her team in scoring with 13.6 points per game. She also led her team in rebounding in nearly 7 per game. A beast on the glass, Near impresses many with her strength in the post and being able to hold her own on a box out. She’s quick enough to chase down boards as well and gives 100% in transition play. In a win over St. Mary Catholic last season, Near grabbed 11 boards and scored 24 points for her team. </span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="202240" first="Desiree" last="Kleiman"] | Mishicot | Senior | 6’0 SF </b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Kleiman earned First Team all conference as a junior and showed how impactful she can be on both ends of the floor. A primarily inside scorer, Kleiman can also shoot the three point if left open. She knocked down 14 three point baskets last season. She finishes high and is strong when attacking the glass. She’s a fierce rebounder as well and can push the ball in transition. Kleiman is committed to Minnesota State Mankato. </span>
