The day after Thanksgiving has always been known as a huge shopping day. It’s no secret that college coaches at all levels are constantly shopping for the perfect player for their team. Well coaches, here are some absolute steals for you from the class of 2022, in honor of the biggest shopping day of the year.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="178868" first="Asia" last="Cochran"] (SG, Westfield Prep)</strong>
If you haven’t heard her name, now is the time to become familiar and start recruiting her. Cochran is a dynamic guard that could blow up this high school season and her recruitment will become all the more competitive.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147728" first="Alaina" last="Diaz"] (CG, Hudsonville)</strong>
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-209308" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/10/68_Alainia-DiazPrepHoops-2-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" />
Trust me, you want Diaz on your team. She’s the ultimate energy player and can play on or off the ball effectively. If you’re a coach that wants speed in transition, you have to take a look at Diaz.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147744" first="Olivia" last="Dirkse"] (SG, Davison)</strong>
Let’s be real, every coach wants a shooter. Especially one that can pop it off the catch as well as create her own look off the dribble. Dirkse is an underrated prospect that will make college coaches very happy.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147775" first="Kayla" last="Giroux"] (PF, Flat Rock)</strong>
Giroux doesn’t have eye popping intangibles. But she has better than those. She flat out gets the job done. Giroux is a winner, that very rarely loses her matchup within a game. She’s always a threat for a double-double in points and rebounds.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147761" first="Mya" last="Hicks"] (CG, Ann Arbor Pioneer)</strong>
Hicks is a versatile 2 way guard. She can be a secondary, as well as a primary, ball handler. Hicks can defend the entire length of the floor, guarding either the 1 or 2. She’s a high IQ player that can be a rock and a leader for her squad.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147791" first="Kate" last="Jacobs"] (C, Hartland)</strong>
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-209351" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/10/119_Kate-JacobsPrepHoops-2-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" />
Jacobs is a must see for college coaches. She’s tall and long, and knows how to use it on the defensive end. Jacobs has the potential to be a defensive force, even at the collegiate level. Her game is growing, especially offensively, and she has a very high ceiling.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147780" first="Mackenzie" last="Miller"] (PF, Schoolcraft)</strong>
Miller is that glue in the post that a lot of coaches love. She’s not afraid to battle and get her hands dirty under the rim. Miller has a good feel for the game and a natural understanding of what her team needs from her on any given night.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147714" first="Mya" last="Petticord"] (PG, Arbor Prep)</strong>
This seems obvious. It’d be tough, if not impossible, to find a more skilled floor general in the midwest. Petticord is so solid and dependable with the ball in her hands. Plus, she always moves the ball, never lets it stick, and makes the defense react and eventually break down.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147713" first="Ruby" last="Whitehorn"] (CG, Detroit Edison)</strong>
[player_tooltip player_id="2386" first="Rickea" last="Jackson"] = College superstar. Gabby Elliott = Sure looked like a superstar in her opening college game. [player_tooltip player_id="4132" first="Damiya" last="Hagemann"] = I’m willing to bet she’s a future college superstar. Anybody see a trend? Whitehorn is just so skilled and dynamic. I’m willing to bet on any DEPSA star.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147722" first="Jordan" last="Wright"] (PG, Ann Arbor Huron)</strong>
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-209280" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/10/42_Jordan-WrightPrepHoops-2-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" />
College coaches at all levels, you’ve got to see this young lady play ball. She is efficient with the ball, rarely turning it over. Wright can create for herself and for her teammates. I truly believe that she can be a future floor general for a Division 1 team.
