Conference Preview: Polk County
Prep Girls Hoops Missouri continues its conference previews with a look at the Polk County League. Leading the way once again will be two-time Class 1 state champion Walnut Grove, which returns another strong nucleus.
<h4>Earl’s Preseason Starting Five</h4>
[player_tooltip player_id="106891" first="Faith" last="Gilkey"] 5’6" Walnut Grove: The returning Class 1 Player of the Year who averaged 28 points, six rebounds and three assists last season. Has signed with Southwest Baptist.
[player_tooltip player_id="106884" first="Lauren" last="Johnson"] 5’9" Walnut Grove: A 2021 forward who averaged 13 points and seven rebounds as a junior.
Makayla McVay 5’11" Walnut Grove: A 2021 forward who averaged 13 points and eight rebounds last season.
Libby Lacket 5’6" Dadeville: An All-Conference 2023 point guard with excellent speed and quickness.
Kennedy Griffin, Wheatland: An All-Conference 2021 standout who averaged 13.7 points, seven rebounds and three steals a game last season.
