I’m exploring the regions as I go since I’m clueless on what’s happening because or local paper doesn’t even have the schedules but with my keen sense of things, well my ingenuity, I think outside the box, use my crystal ball and I had another Saturday to see some new players. Friendswood doesn’t have any PGH Top 100 players, yet, but they’re in a district with Manvel who has 2 [player_tooltip player_id="135376" first="Jordyn" last="Marshall"] and [player_tooltip player_id="158679" first="Jade" last="Miller"], one of the areas top backcourt and Hightower has one, [player_tooltip player_id="206972" first="Madison" last="Bob"] one of the top freshmen in the state so can Friendswood compete and based on what I saw, yes they can

Kamila Yunus-5’8 PF
Yunus is athletic and strong and she finishes that way, strong, well strongly either from putbacks or attacking the rim which she did a good job of putting it on the floor. I like the way she goes after it, and by that, I’m talking loose balls and playing the passing lane but she also doesn’t mind playing defense be it in the paint or on the perimeter but she also did a good job of rebounding on both ends
Noel Chiester-5’9 CG
Chiester has a nice stroke, she creates her shot and understands how to set defenders up. Her mid-range game is nice, she showed range but she also showed she could take defenders off the dribble as well as finish after contact, much of that has to do with her frame which is strong and when you add the fact that she rebounds and sees the floor, she has a nice set of tools

Ashlyn Mason-6’1 P
Mason caught my eye a couple of years ago and I like to go back and look at what I wrote, not just to see how smart or clever I am at doing this but to see the progression which is important. She’s stoned up, she’s running the floor even better than she was and she shows she can dominate on the inside but watching her rebound and finish with power was good but she actually passes the ball very well from the post position

Ashlyn Ryall-5’8 PG
Ryall can play both the 1 and 2 effectively, she’s heady and understands how to get her teammates but her senior leadership is an intangible that adds even more to the loaded equation because she also understands how to control the tempo and when to push it and if you run with her she can get it to you but she also can create her shot which is from mid to long-range and take defenders off the dribble, with either and finish with either hand. I made her Player Spotlight back in August, with video

Rakel Hutchinson-5’9 PF
Hutchinson was definitely a pleasant surprise as she fell into that #THROWBACK type from yesteryear as she battled like she was at "the magic number" of 6’0 but her drive got me going and not just to the basket as she goes after everything, off the glass, on the floor or in the stands and her overpowering mentality was on both ends of the floor as she finished with players hanging on her
