What can you say about Newell-Fonda and legendary Dick Jungers that hasn’t already been said? Jungers and the Mustangs won a second consecutive Class 1A state title last year, finishing unbeaten yet again. They scored over 77 points a game, held teams under 37 and return nearly the entire roster intact. Oh, and another fantastic freshman class is coming in. [player_tooltip player_id="129006" first="Macy" last="Sievers"] averaged almost 15 a game with [player_tooltip player_id="164945" first="Bailey" last="Sievers"], [player_tooltip player_id="164943" first="Maggie" last="Walker"] and [player_tooltip player_id="164944" first="Ella" last="Larsen"] joining her in double figures.

For the third consecutive season, Mason City Newman finished with 13 wins, giving them a fifth straight year of at least 10 victories overall. Seniors Kealan Curley and Faith Wadle return for the Knights. Curley averaged over 13 points per game and Wadle had 156 total rebounds, including 3.4 on the offensive glass a night. Nine other returning players are back for Newman.
