Led by senior [player_tooltip player_id="165009" first="Chassidy" last="Henwood"], Newton will look to make a push towards a spot in the Class 4A state tournament. Henwood is coming off a season in which she averaged nearly 11 points, eight rebounds and over five assists per game. Henwood finished with 234 total points, 170 boards and 123 rebounds to lead the Cardinals. Joining her in the starting rotation will be Victoria Reynolds, [player_tooltip player_id="163336" first="Aurora" last="Nehring"], Brooklyn Cupples and several others who saw key time on the court. Meg Callaghan averaged a double-double in just 12 games.

After winning 20 games, expectations are high for Nodaway Valley, which returns its leading scorer, rebounder and top assist player. [player_tooltip player_id="63634" first="Maddax" last="DeVault"] posted 18 points a night last year as a sophomore, shooting 47 percent from the field and nearly 33 percent from deep. [player_tooltip player_id="165046" first="Lexi" last="Shike"] averaged nine rebounds including four on the offensive end, with Macy Kuhns dishing out 74 assists. As a team, the Wolverines made 112 three-pointers, dished out 348 assists and had 320 steals.

Leading scorer Madison Clipperton is back for North Butler after averaging 9.5 points per game. Clipperton also dished out a team-high 67 assists. Haley Freesemann, Meg Thompson, Haylee Niemann and Sydney Eiklenborg all return with starting experience for the Bearcats.

It was a difficult year for North Cedar in 2019-20, as the Knights won just once. They do return leading scorer and rebounder Jenna Syring, who posted eight points and 12 rebounds a night. North Cedar will also need bigger performances out of the likes of Sam Koth, Kiley Chapman and a handful of there who gained experience.
