I was going over the alignments and tinkering around with some "what ifs" for this season and I guess the big question is what if anyone can dethrone defending R-3 champion Cypress Creek so I’ll start with their district and I’ll break the other districts and top players down

Cypress Creek- the Cougars have made it to the State Championship finals 2 of the last 3 years finishing second both times but that accomplishment is huge in itself and much of it has to do with the future Texas Longhorn backcourt or [player_tooltip player_id="97622" first="Kyndall" last="Hunter"] and [player_tooltip player_id="65878" first="Rori" last="Harmon"], as well as fellow seniors [player_tooltip player_id="97930" first="Taylor" last="Jackson"], Ri’yah Francis and Haleen Harris, will be able to give them a boost for the run this season but they also have
Trinity Santisiero- talented guard that can stretch the defense with her long-range shooting
Jasmyn Jackson-long and athletic runs the floor after she rebounds, she does it well on both ends, showed she can score multiple ways
[player_tooltip player_id="175527" first="Krishawn" last="Lee"]- huge upside and potential, might be a breakout season for her I don’t think anyone will dethrone them in the district yet you never know but here are some teams that will make a solid playoff run

Jersey Village
[player_tooltip player_id="136328" first="Gia" last="Adams"]-Tennessee State commit and one of the most electrifying guards in the area as she can shoot it from anywhere and her body control is second to none
[player_tooltip player_id="136343" first="Briana" last="Peguero"]-heady guard whose athleticism enables her to create her shot and score from all over the floor plays the passing lane to a tee and applies heat on defense
[player_tooltip player_id="206957" first="Ma’Riya" last="Vincent"]-long and athletic as well as high flying and gliding and she has set it off already making the adjustment from middle to high school. One of the top 2024 players in the state, super upside

Memorial
Giana Vlahakos-legitimate inside player that stands at the magic number of 6’0 finishes strong after contact, does a good job on defense and rebounds well on both ends
[player_tooltip player_id="134041" first="Riley" last="McCloskey"]-the game starts at the one and this one right here continues to elevate her game. She can score off the dribble, either the stop and pop or taking it to the rim and she can shoot the mid to long-range, in transition but she understands how to control the tempo, she sees the floor, and her passes are crisp and on the money, with either hand
[player_tooltip player_id="204172" first="Abigail" last="Tomaski"]-Tomaski just took her game to yet another level over the season, yeah I knew she could hit the mid to long-range but what I enjoyed, even more, was her "creating her shot" as well as attacking and finishing after contact
[player_tooltip player_id="158872" first="Nicolette" last="Polocheck"]-I was wondering how long it would take Polocheck to make the transition yet after seeing her in the preseason, she’s ready and her strength and power will give them another solid inside player that can finish and rebound on both ends of the court
Cy Fair and Cy Ridge will probably be the two teams that contend for that fourth playoff spot, I’ll do an update before the district actually starts
