They were close at halftime and then Argyle outscored Sanger 21-7 in the third quarter and after that Argyle never looked back. You could tell that Argyle was the better coached team because their coach was always calm talking to his girls during timeouts and in between quarters and Sanger’s coach was always yelling and cussing out his players. Argyle is the five time 4A Girls Basketball State Champions so they have a target on their back whenever they play an opponent. Here comes my analysis of the top players from this game.
2022 6-2 C Bella Ringenberg-Sanger, TX
She led her team by getting the right post up position so that she could get the ball and by playing physical down low which helped her get to the free throw line quite often on Friday night. I believe she was telling the opposing team that she was going to give them a tough night down low by doing this. She also led her team by setting good screens to get her teammates open shots.
2021 5-7 SF, SG, and PG Chloe Malone- Sanger, TX
A vocal energetic leader who played anywhere on the court that her coach told her to on Friday night showed her athleticism by playing post like one by positioning herself great to get open to receive the ball from a teammate and going up strong to get to the free throw line. She showed her enthusiasm for the game by guarding the opposing teams best player and getting some deflections while doing so, hustling to loose balls, by playing point guard when she had to, and moving without the ball so that she could get open for a shot. You could definitely tell that she was the best player on her team when she was on the court.
2021 5-9 SG and PG Bailey Timmons- Argyle, TX
She showed her love for the game Friday night by leading the offense at point guard, finding an open shot for herself by moving without the ball, or finding an open teammate for a shot by drawing defenders to her when she drove to the basket. She was always moving around on defense trying to wreak havoc.
2023 5-10 G Ashlin Crabtree- Argyle, TX
Coming off the bench on Friday night she made an immediate impact in the game by using her high basketball IQ. She moved around and helped her team out anyway she could. She was a huge part of her team’s offense by moving without the ball to get herself an open shot and by following up her shot. She also played point guard when she had to and was a versatile player for her team to run an effective offense. Finally, she was a big presence on the defensive end by showing off her hustle to get to loose balls which caused jump balls and by getting deflections which led to a steal for her or one of her teammates.
2023 5-8 SG and PG Madi Lumsden- Argyle, TX
The high energy guard was showing her passion for the game on Friday night. She was a disruption to the opposing team by blowing by them in transition for easy layups, draining threes from the right wing when she was spotted up there and finding the ball instead of the ball finding her by hustling to loose balls, to get rebounds on both side of the court, and causing turnovers on defense. While she was on the floor you could tell that she was the best player on the court.
